Maybe it’s just that it brings back… certain… memories for me. Eleven years old, living in the ‘deep north’ (far north Queensland), and actually being able to speak English sentences, with pretty much correct grammar and pronunciation. There was no other explanation: I had to be a poof. Only poofs spoke proper, and wore shoes and had clean clothes. Hence, I was ‘Poofy’. I’m not sure ‘Poshy’ was any better at the next school.
But I am over these childhood traumas now. Really. At least both my psychiatrist and my parole officer say I am.
I figure, to sound good, callsign need to be heavy on the consonants or end in -er. Two syllable-words also are cool.
I think Bulkhead and Showtime are still untaken. If Chuck doesn’t want it, you can also be Starfighter.
Again, sounds better ending with -er, so Clipper would be perfect. Boom/Boomer is a no go, they don’t give anybody that callsign anymore.
Again, I’d like it better if it ended with a strong consonant (not -n) and GryphonRider sounds longish. Grypher? Grypho? Griffo? Griffer?
CookieMonster would fit, but that’s longish too.

I would vote Shiny for Lady D. Although I appreciate Shiny given my love of Firefly, it didn’t quite fit. To be honest, “Raven” is simply a placeholder. I am still trying to figure out what my callsign should be. It is like Harry Potter and selecting a wand. Some get close, but when you get the one that is right…you will know. Any help would be appreciated!
