Walking Dead - TV - General Discussion

No, not too preachy at all, but I have to point out that this airs on a cable channel. It’s not intruding into your home, you’re paying for it.

That said, there’s various parental locks for TVs and cable boxes you may want to look into. That’d be the easiest way to keep access for yourself and keep the kids from nightmares.

Ugh no. If you’ve got kids it’s your responsibility to keep them from watching stuff you don’t want them to. Don’t put that on the network and the vast majority of the populace to bend to “child friendly” programming at certain times, especially for a marathon leading up to the last ep.

Nothing really specific, but still fun:

miss…show…so…much!!!

I really am going to have a hard time waiting for more of this show. I never expected to love it, but really did. Oh how I wish SG-U & Caprica excited me this much!

Sunday nights just aren’t nearly as fun without a new episode and the frak party that went with it!

I know! I got used to watching this show on Sunday nights, and loved the frak parties. Hope it comes back sometime in my lifetime.

Just finished watching the first season. Man I felt out of sync with the rest of the planet because I hadn’t seen them all!

You can only imagine how I feel, only being on Season 2.5 of BSG!

Now that you are caught up, you can join the frak parties when the show starts up again!

So because I am the youngest old lady on these forums, I never participated because I had to go to sleep! I can’t watch a 10 p.m. show on Sundays. I have to go to bed at 10:45 to be able to get up for work on Monday. That’s why I still haven’t seen the 5th or 6th episodes. Somehow I must catch up before the next season starts!

Ooooooooold lady

Sounds like Stephen King may in talks to write some Walking Dead

Finally got my guy to watch it and he showed it to someone who then asked to borrow it to show someone else. Ahhhh how the wonderful zombie geekiness spreads

Interesting. The show seems right up King’s wheelhouse.

Darabont steps down as showrunner

notgonnapanicnotgonnapanicnotgonnapanic

I suppose the peanut gallery can’t truly assess the damage until around November 20th, episode four or five of the thirteen episode season. That’s when The Walking Dead begins flying blind without Darabont’s guidance.

You need to ignore opinions about well maybe this changes little. He invested five years bringing this personal project to television. Hire anyone you want to take over, he’s taking that five years of forethought with him. It doesn’t help he decided to go off the map from the comic book canon. That was a good thing with Kirkman and Darabont together feeling their way ahead. Now its a huge liability with Kirkman alone, he simply has very little experience adapting material for teleplay, even his own work.

No one willingly walks away from a smash hit. Something off the hook just happened. Loosened tongues will wag at TCA tomorrow night and we’ll learn more.

So, yeah, I’m a panicked peanut despite having a half a second season as originally envisioned.

ADD: Previously hired Glenn Mazzara formerly of The Shield is promoted to new show runner. That was quick because they’re shooting in Atlanta, like right now. What a mess.

10/16/11…90 minute premiere!!!
