The Questions only game

Why is the sky blue?

Damn, this makes me think of a really sweet story in the back of Starlog, circa 79. The gist of it was that this girl came to a con dressed as an Andorian in a maroon (I think) uniform. When questioned about it, she said the Tech Manual listed it as a “uniform color.” The narrator had to explain that “uniform” meant “standard” and not the color of your uniform.

1,000 Quatloos to whomever can dreg that up.

When was the last time thread originator Emily posted a question? Where’s Emily?

Man, you could do a really REALLY wrong “Waldo” answer there, if you weren’t as upright a citizen as I am.

You must be reading my mind.

Where’s Waldo?

I’ve got the original Star Fleet Technical Manual up in my attic. Damn, when I was 12 or 13 or so that book used to be more important to me that the Bible is to a priest.

Shouldn’t you be stating that Jeopardy style in the form of a question?

Let me try that again:
Damn, when I was 12 or 13 or so that book used to be more important to me that the Bible is to a priest, but I’ll betcha the Bible doesn’t have any cool phaser diagrams…does it?

which bible?

The Barbeque Bible? (that’s the only one I own…)

can a phaser be considered a legitimate form of outdoor cooking?

Woman Power? Wicca Good? Should I stay over here?

Would you believe they told us? Or that they’ve always known and have just been waiting for the right time to strike?

With a youthdamagemeter?

Not since I got caught listening at the window; can I borrow some money for bail?

Hasn’t all this happened before? Won’t it all happen again?

Can we identify them by their purple eyes?

Liz Taylor is a witch???

Unfortunately yes. How can they do that to their kids?

Because their parents did it to them?

Do you think we have repeated any questions in all these posts?

Surely we must have; can I call you Shirley?

Is your claim to fame to maim and to mangle?

Is purple the color of royalty?

Would you believe that light from the sun scatters through the atmosphere and only the longer wavelengths of light reach the ground, so the sky appears blue?

Kebert Xela?

Have you heard the theory that the Ark of the Covenant could act as a giant capacitor, which is why you’d be struck dead if you touched it?

Wouldn’t that depend on the setting?

Is not the question itself the most important part? Why? Does this simple act of questioning drive knowledge forward? Is THAT not the point?

What kind of school did you go to that teaches this blasphemy?

Don’t we all know the sky is blue because of the water reflecting off the top of the snow globe?
Aren’t we all aware that the world is one of many snow globes setting on God’s big black desk?

Isn’t that ironic?

I thought that the only thing more important to a priest than the bible was 12-13 year old boys?

Does that mean that the original Star Fleet Technical Manual is 3x more important than the bible?

Could it be Billy’s Intricate Book of Laura’s Erroneousness?

Have you ever heard the way Eddie Izzard pronounces Bible? He says it:

Bib (think Baby bib) Lee (think Adama)

Biblee

Yup. Don’t you own Indian Jones’s version of the Bible?

Didn’t you know that Emily graduated High School? Maybe she has gone to some distant galaxy for a few weeks, without internet?

Was that a question? I have a SFTM signed by most of the original cast, how much would you bid for that?
