Talk About TV Shows...

I really enjoyed the first season. The second was a little better and then it got lame.

Gets decked in the back of the head by Jack Bauer

It’s alright.

I just remember laughing my head off when his wife and daughter get into the car wreck and his wife gets amnesia. I kinda never watched anything past season 1.

I watched Season four and five. Both were pretty good. Season Six killed me. I might give this new season a chance.

Having lived in the UK I use to watch many shows there.
Anyone else seen these?
Ultraviolet
IT crowd
Spaced
Black Books
Never mind the buzzcocks

I think it peaked about 3 years ago. last season was just sad

We tried watching 24 when it first came on several years ago but couldn’t get into it. I think we lasted two episodes.

I didn’t watch on primetime. I watched the first two seasons on DVD. They were addictive. I stayed up two days straight watching it. I was sooo paranoid for the rest of the week, though. I don’t recommend it. When I watched the third season on Fox, it lost interest fast. Jack’s yelling. Jack’s whispering. Jack’s torturing. Jack’s answering the phone. OK I get it.

I agree. It was really addictive in the beginning, but the formula is not something that works the 9th time around. They should have made it like BSG, with 4~5 year fixed timeline from the beginning. It’s really stale now.

Hey, has anyone seen the latest episode of Family Guy? (S07E03)

It’s was a time travel episode, with a lot of reference to time travel movies, most notably with a running Back-To-The-Future theme! I watched about half way through last night before falling asleep. It was pretty cool, y’all should check it out!

No, but now that you bring it to my attention, perhaps I will  Thanks!

Not any of those, but I do watch QI, Doctor Who, and Torchwood and used to watch Jonathan Creek (the ones with Maddie were way better), Life on Mars, Red Dwarf, Blackadder, and miniseries like Blackpool (which I adored), Kitchen, and 40. And every now and then I catch the ones on our PBS stations like Last of the Summer Wine, Ballykissangel, Time Goes By, My Family, and old Are You Being Served eps. (Yeah, I’m a bit of an Anglophile…)

I also like to watch Doctor Who, Torchwood and Life on Mars. So I am disappointed that if rummers are true that DW and Torchwood will be limited to only a few episodes this year.

I used to watch Black Books, and I enjoyed it very much. At the time, a I was heavily smoking, heavily drinking small business employee so I felt a strong kinship with Bernard. But of course, everyone who knows me personally thought I’m more the Manny type. I’m not sure what they meant by it… I’m just gonna assume they meant “lovable and scruffy”.

Does anybody like Dexter? I thought it would be rather lame but I’m surprised that I’ve actually liked most of the story arcs so far - I’ve seen all of the first season, most of the second, and I’m currently catching up on what’s been aired for the third.

Any other Dexter fans out there?

big fan of dexter, probably the only show that can compete with BSG on all levels IMO

Yeah, dude… I think a lot of Dexter fans out here. I love that he used to manage a funeral home, and now he’s a serial killer. Seems like a natural transition to me.

I want to get into Dexter, it’s just been on a weird schedule, here. They are moving it around. Sounds like it’s worth the effort though by the posts here. I think I’ll watch the first season on DVD

I FAIL to see how you could have enjoyed season 4 but disliked season 6.
Season four was FAR worse.

I’m not going to agrue that the show is not the same now as it was before but that’s becasue of the sheer number of new veiwers they got during season 4,5.

Those new fans thought 24 was an action show and nothing else.

I’m looking forward to the T.V movie this November.

I agree that they need to do something to mix it up.

What is really screwing them up is the FOX Exc’s.

24 is their cash cow.
Look at bsg it’s not that hard for me to see Sci Fi keeping it going another couple of years.

But if you want to talk about shows that should not have lasted as long as they did then I have a show that beats all shows.

                            Stargate SG1

I watched Black Books while it had a brief run on Comedy Central a few years ago, but not often enough to become more than passingly (is that a word?) familiar with it. It’s awefully funny, though. I’ve also occassionally indulged in Little Britain and the original version of The Office and have been a fan of Black Adder for almost as long as I’ve been a fan of Python.
