Talk About TV Shows...

I love Dexter! This season has been really good. Last season had some really good eps, but as a whole it was weaker than the first was and the third has been.

Current shows, agreed.

I know! Six Feet Under was amazing. Michael C Hall was the main reason why I decided to check Dexter out. And Alan Ball was the reason I started watching True Blood.

Oh, do! If you can’t find it on tv 'cause they move it around too much, you can find it streaming online if you look hard enough.

I know Six Feet Under was a great show. My concern for Dexter: how durable is the premise of the show? I mean, how many season can a serial killer kill, before mathematically half the population of Miami should be dead? Dexter is killing of 10~20 people a season, maybe? Not to mention whoever else is the main antagonist for Dexter each season is also killing. So, over a 5~10 year period, Dexter, along with those imitating or competing against Dexter, are killing hundreds of people.

Really, we are graduating from a prodigiously productive serial killer to a perpetrator of a minor genocide.

It’s not so much that I’m concerned about the large number of people Dexter is killing, because, by and large, they all happen to be douchebags. But wouldn’t the entire law enforcement community of the United State, along with the army, navy, air force and coast guard would relocate to Miami to in search of him? After hundreds of people are dead? This cannot not turn out well for Dexter, or the show.

That’s why it’s called fiction, my dear.

Hey, did you all hear, Willow is pregnant with Wesley’s baby? (News, here) I cannot even begin to describe how adorable I think that baby is going to be.

They only started showing the first season here a few months ago, and I don’t know where it’s gone now. When there is nothing on this coming summer it would be a good time to grab the DVDs and give it a whirl me thinks

Thanks for the link. How good looking is that child going to be!

I know, just the two of the most adorable people in the world having babies. This is a good thing. This is also the first Whedonverse baby!

I’d love to see the Scoobies and the Fang Gang wrap their heads around that one

It would be an interesting story line considering that she’s gay!

So, are there other people watching Life? Anyone seen the latest episode?

I bring this up because I want to know: is anyone else getting creeped out by the interaction between the new Captain and Reece?

My mother-in-law just introduced me to this show (it, with Boston Legal, is about the only non-Lifetime-esque show that she likes and that we find common ground on. Well, I do like what I’ve seen of Army Wives as well, but I can’t say I’m INTO it). It’s good. And the interaction between Reece and the Captain IS creepy, but in an “oh so funny” sort of way. Maybe. It could go either way, I suppose.

Stay tuned.

I think there’s more to the new captain than meets the eye. I think he tries too hard to be skeevey. The show tries pretty hard to show that everyone is shades of gray, so I think we’ll eventually find some part of him that’s a shining example of humanity.

Or he really is a total d-bag, which makes that kiss all the creepier.

Yeah, there’s back-story to him that we haven’t been given yet, and in time, I think he’s gonna be a major character.

So, ok, I gotta ask. Is Reece and Charlie gonna get together eventually? Are there any hints there that suggest it?

I don’t know, but I had the same feeling. Maybe like most shows they’ll build on the tension for a while.

It’s clearly not gonna happen right now, because Charlie’s got this ex-wife thing happening, and Reece is busy getting sexually harrased by her Jersey-boy boss. It’s surprising to me that they’ve so far managed to not sexualize their relationship at all Charlie and Dani are just so comfortable yet professional around each other.

I wonder if this is gonna change soon.

Oh, and Ted getting it on with Charlie’s new stepmother, Yo-Saff-Bridge, how awesome is that?

I lol’d when she said she was sorry, not for the kiss, but for… and then yanked the pencil out!

So Entourage was great this week

That was cute!

I don’t think Yo-Saff-Bridge is what she claims to be. Dani Reece’s father turned out to be not such a horrible guy, after all, last week. Now I was thinking… so, who’s the evil scheming bastard in this show now? And, voila, she shows up again. Something is fishy.

(Besides my take-out fish tacos, I mean. This is really delicious.)

Agreed. I haven’t really trusted her from the beginning. She is so up to something.

Watching on TV now: Black Sheep. The world was robbed of Chris Farley too soon. I miss him.
