BTW when are they going to stuff Telford in the brig while he is on Destiny. Every single time he gets back there he desperately tried to assume command. I’m waiting for Young to ask Gen O’Neil to please keep him away. I like LDP but this character needs a big attitude adjustment in a hurry. At least Sgt Greer got to do that to him before he got to the ship.
Well, I think it’s only been 3-5 days since they got there, so they may still be searching.
I think it’s been longer than that by now. The episodes before this one were prolly 3-5 days since Rush suffered from lack of sleep. Who knows how long they spent in hyperspace now.
holy crap, the Asian lady’s Dectective Ying from The Batman?
She’s been in a lotta stuff. Never heard of that role though. I thought she was mor popular for ER and Disney’s Mulan.
Lol. She was even Chun Li in Street Fighter. Bodes well for Kristen Kreuk.
I gotta say that it’s kinda boring. It just feels like they’re trying too hard to be dramatic and serious. It seems like they’re fighting the instinct to be like the Stargate series overall. I’ll watch it because Begby kicks ass but I’m apt to change the channel or hop on my PC.
Yup, sure seems that way. Not sure why, I mean SG1 certainly had some campy episodes but mostly it was just more humorous, an aspect I loved. So far they have done almost nothing, unless you count sitting around/complaining/walking in the corridors (tho I still enjoy it enough to watch). I dont think anything is really going to happen until they run the gamut of aquisition of basic provisions/necessities episodes (air, power, water, food etc).
Still watching, but the pacing of the show is starting to get to me a little. I keep waiting for a “gotcha” moment, or at the very least someone to react to a situation with a bit less lethargy. Aside from Rush’s yelling. But…still watching.
That’s a good way to describe my reaction to it, as well.
After watching last nights show I have one thing I have to say.
GET THE D#$%^&**&(ING PASSCODE!!!
You mean to tell us no one has thought this up? Did Atlantis just up and disappear? Wait…It can do that. Nevermind :p:D
Well, remember, they didn’t learn anything about Destiny from Atlantis, just the 9 chevron coordinate.
Yes you are right about that. But they may not have thought to ask either. As it is any ancient would have know about the ship. That info may not have been needed. That said though something as important as a a pas code to the central core of Destiny might be in there. Granted it would have been archived millennia ago but since they seem to keep all records its in there. Heck to throw an 80’s reference at ya. In WarGames. They couldn’t find Tic Tac Toe on the list of games. As was said by the creator of the W.H.O.P.P.E.R. “It has to be in there”.
So KEEP A SEARCHIN IT’S GOT TO BE THERE!
Oh my god I’m so bored with this show I could just fart!
I want it to succeed, I really do. SG-1 was always my guilty little pleasure. They made up for blatant rip-offs from other shows with truly amiable characters. That always saved the show.
But this time around, they’ve got the math wiz kid and the medic woman and that’s about it. The senator’s daughter is pouty and disposable, all the military guys are dull and as for Rush, his hair alone deserves a long walk out a short airlock. I’ll concede they’re working hard to make Rush seem complex and questionable though.
I said in a different thread that characters and mystery are important for a show to build the kind of respect BSG had. They’ve got a lot of character work to do. And as for mystery, let’s hope we get some when they start exploring the rest of the ship.
Am I being too harsh?
the way i see it is… they need to start meeting other civilizations fast…
i never was much of a Stargate fan, but I am trying to watch this one. The one thing I do remember from the SG1s I’ve watched is the political intrigues of dealing with other aliens.
The survival of the week is a cool approach and new approach, but have 7 weeks in a roll is getting old fast. I wish they’d find something or meet someone soon so the show gets interesting besides the trying to survive factor.
I was not real hot about this series from the beginning, and it has gotten a little too ‘Desperate Housewives/ Defying Gravity’ for me. I don’t watch Science Fiction for Soap Opera action, and ‘Earth’ was the last straw for me.
When LDP showed up at the Ex Wives door I felt the show had Jumped the Shark, I refuse to watch any more episodes.
The other two Stargate series never had any of this crap in it and I bought every DVD set that came out and watch the heck out of it. It was full of action, SF and character development. And most of all it was hopeful, humorous and had a sense of adventure. This series is spiteful, full of bickering and backstabbing; if I want to watch that I will watch the US House of Representatives!!!
Why try a new formula when the old one worked so well??
Highlight of this last episode for me was the poorly timed communication interruption for the people connected via the stones.
Awwwwwwkwaaaard.
The twist at the end with the last scene, nice touch.
BUT THIS SHOW IS BORING. C’mon, guys.
I wouldn’t say it is boring. It is DIFFERENT from what we are used to. Looking at it from the BSG mind-set…aren’t we glad they ditched the Galactica into the sun rather than setting it adrift? Heck, the folks on SGU could have really been in trouble if they found the Galactica instead of the Destiny.
The show has a good vibe. After Earth I wound up questioning whether Chloe & Eli really kissed or if it was in Eli’s head. That’s an important question though…as we could easily wind up with a lovely mental institution episode or three.
The question would be: Who’s the psycho imagining this malarkey?
Just wondering why I didn’t like this episode more then the others. Then it dawned on me. I miss my Lt. Dayuuum FIX.
PLEASE PLEASE I NEED MY Lt. Dayuuum FIX BADDD!!!:p:D
It was in Eli’s head.
I missed her too.
