Star Wars: The Force Unleashed

I just got Lego Star Wars the complete saga for the Wii and I GOTSTA get Force Unleashed!

leeegoooooooooooooooo!!

I totally love that game. Well, the two. They’re my favorite game evah.

(we only have a PS2, with any luck however by year’s end we’ll have a 360 and a Wii to keep it company…)

I’m not sure but it does seem kind of pointless to have more than one ending simply because they’ve obviously chosen a canon ending since there is both a novel and a graphic novel of the game. I’m just wondering if Lucasfilm likes to piss off fans by giving them multiple endings and then declaring one the canon ending.

I’m still recovering from all the anger I encountered online when they gave Revan and the Exile a canon gender. I wasn’t bothered by the decision because I thought they made the most sense for the story but wow there is still a ton of bitterness about that decision.

I played the demo…I’m substantially less hyped for this game than I was before playing it. A lightsaber is not an electrified bat.

yeah, that’s my problem with Soul Calibur IV. am i really supposed to believe Maxi can block a lightsaber with his nunchaku? because that’s just silly. still a great game, though.

That I don’t have a problem with, it’s two different universes, allowances are to be made for the sake of balance.

Lightsabers A. Not killing in one hit and B. Not dismembering anyone in the Star Wars universe is just…lame as hell.

I don’t see a problem with more than one ending. At least with this game (as far as the EU is concerned) they are being smart and picking out the canon ending. With KOTOR the waters were a little murkier canon wise for a while there. More endings just means more replay factor and more story. I always love a good infinities tale.

I know after I play this game I’m going to end up cracking and buying a new console.

I hear what you are saying. But speaking from experience with the Jedi Knight games it’s more fun to play if it takes a few slashes to kill someone. From a game balance perspective I’m ok with the bat thing. Unless it takes a ridiculous amount of hits to kill something.

Man I used the lightsaber enhancement/dismember enhancement mods for Jedi Outcast. Now that was some sick lightsaber combat

I wouldn’t mind getting a 360, but I wouldn’t get a ps2 until I got myself an hdtv, but I just wish the multiplayer experience on the Wii was even somewhere close to the 360’s. I’m just too cheap to do any of this.

So, I was playing this demo the other day and got to the room where the TIE’s fly around shooting at you and I was trying to get into the room where the elevator is. There I was charging up my Force Push and this idiot Stormtrooper walks right in front of the door. I couldn’t resist so I let the Force Push go, the doors fly open and the Stormtrooper goes flying out the other side never to be seen again. I had to pause it 'cause I was laughing so frakking hard.

I just saw a TV commercial… it appears to be a battle on the wookie home planet, on a wooden footbridge, in a forest. It’s a rendered scene where a sith apprentice (looks like) uses the force to blow up the bridge, and stormtroopers and wookies alike go flying everywhere. It looks simply incredible. Un-effing-believable. I’m so getting this game.

I was uber psyched for this game but a little bummed at the chilly critical reception. regardless, i’m definitely giving it a go, the visuals look kickass regardless - the demo was fun too!

Mine’s coming in the mail as I type (Amazon preorder). I’m not concerned at all about the chilly reviews… They’re actually higher than I expected.

I want to make stuff blow up real pretty, and this looks like it’ll do the trick. Also, I’m buying this somewhat for completionism (I hear the ending is pretty good!).

EDIT: Well, speak of the devil… It just came in the mail. I’ll play it later today, probably.

Read a review where it said you got to punt a Jawa and i literally stopped reading walked out my door to the closest store and bought it,

its pretty cool so far still yet to punt a Jawa :frowning:

I’m liking this game a lot i know its glitchy and whatnot but its just ridiculously fun to destroy imperial walkers, and fight your way through the inside of a sarlac (sp?)

I haven’t tried it yet. My son wants it but I told him it is Teen rated and as he is not a teen, he will have to give it a pass. But just out of curiosity, can you tell me if is is “teen” as in " I don’t really know why Zelda Twighlight princess is Teen rated and Lego Star Wars is E10" or is is Teen as in “there are some adult themes played for giggles that the kids won’t get but fair warning” as in the Sims or is it Teen as in “dead and rotting naked bodies handing from walls and scenes of realistic death and torture” as in Oblivion?

I have no idea, but I had to bump for the best breakdown of parental concern EVAH!

I would love to play this game. Unfortunately, the only gaming system I have that would play it is my Nintendo DS and I’m not even going to go there. Why the frak can’t they make a PC version?

I thought the demo was fun, but I’m concerned about the story. Two things disturbed me in general. One was the scene where Darth Vader knights his pupil with his light saber… don’t sneeze Darth. The second was the star destroyer scene. That’s all I’ll say for fear of spoilers, but it was in the game trailer.

I’d like to hear if those are the only dodgy parts to the story and it’s otherwise good, or if it’s just more of that.

Huh. I beat it… I had fun, but I wish there was more. It was also pretty buggy, which was annoying. I’d say rent it.

EDIT: The story (what little there is) is pretty good, probably one of the best I’ve seen in a Star Wars game. It also adds a bit to the canon, which is nice.
