I thought the demo was fun, but I’m concerned about the story. Two things disturbed me in general. One was the scene where Darth Vader knights his pupil with his light saber… don’t sneeze Darth. The second was the star destroyer scene. That’s all I’ll say for fear of spoilers, but it was in the game trailer.

I’d like to hear if those are the only dodgy parts to the story and it’s otherwise good, or if it’s just more of that.

Heck, the star destroyer thing is shown on the back (or was it the front, no, think it was the back) of the box.

Anyone else found Jar jar frozen in carbonite, it made a great little eater egg, i know i shouldn’t but from now on this is star wars cannon for me. Jar jar was hunted down and frozen carbonite to be viewed as a trophy

Can you destroy it, airlock it or deactivate it to make sure Jar Jar does no more harm to the Star Wars Universe?

I haven’t tried it yet. My son wants it but I told him it is Teen rated and as he is not a teen, he will have to give it a pass. But just out of curiosity, can you tell me if is is “teen” as in " I don’t really know why Zelda Twighlight princess is Teen rated and Lego Star Wars is E10" or is is Teen as in “there are some adult themes played for giggles that the kids won’t get but fair warning” as in the Sims or is it Teen as in “dead and rotting naked bodies handing from walls and scenes of realistic death and torture” as in Oblivion?

theres not really any blood or anything. I’ve beaten the game twice so. the most violent thing i would have to say is when you stab people with your lightsaber. and thats not really graphic.

oh god that lvl with the SD takes forever. you have to go through soo much. but the clip is worth it

my girlfriend and i played it through on her wii, thought the story was pretty cool. waving the wii-mote around as a lightsaber and thrusting the controllers like a manic at the tv screen def improved on the gameplay. my only complaint (at least for the wii) every time i tried to save the game mid-level, when i would go back to start it again, it would throw me back to the beginning of the level. (i hope that made sense?) haha

My son is 8 and he has finished Zelda Twilight Princess like 3 times–I can’t imagine why the T rating there, unless it’s the weapons you use (swords, etc.) We purchased Force Unleashed for Xmas but we’re going to have the kids give it to my hubby as a present and then my son won’t assume ownership of it, ykwim?

I thought the story had great potential, but I wished there was more of it. Has anyone read the novelization? I am curious if it explores the story more in depth.

Sure enough, the game in question was The Force Unleashed 2, due out in 2010. Though details are thin–no platforms revealed–it is clear the game picks up after the events of the 2008 original, which cast players as the secret apprentice to the Sith Lord Darth Vader, Galen “Starkiller” Marek. (WARNING: Spoilers ahead.)

The canon ending of the game, listed on the official Star Wars site site has Marek turning sides and sacrificing himself to save the Rebel Alliance leadership.

However, it now appears that Marek is very much alive, as he appears front and center in the sequel’s trailer…

a ha my out there theory of how this series may feature directly into the live action tv show. with sam witwer as the lead, is still possible. but loved the first game looking forward to the sequel.

I quite liked the Wii platform TFU (Although that’s at least in part because the initials remind me of the Robot Wars episode of Spaced!), although the lightsaber control wasn’t as good as I’d hoped - I have an old TV lightsaber game, and despite its 8-bit graphics it’s really playable.

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II due Oct. 26

LucasArts confirms fall launch date for the follow-up to its 7-million-unit hit; online retailers list the game as coming to PS3, PSP, 360, DS, and Wii.

I have TFU for the PS3, and I’ve played through it many times. To me, it’s a really good platformer that really gets unfairly shatnered upon. I’m really glad they’re making a sequel.

I didn’t like the way they retconned the birth of the rebellion and made it canon, but it could’ve been a worse story. Still, it was fun, minus the gruelling repetition.
