Star Trek Into Darkness - June 29, 2012...or perhaps May 17, 2013

That should totally be the teaser trailer. Especially, considering Abrams and Lindelof’s sense of humor. Quick! Someone get them on teh line.

Too bad Spock Prime can’t save them from V’ger.

Wait, wouldn’t the new timeline mean Willard Decker wouldn’t be born? Who are V’ger and Ilia merge with now…? d:

I’d love to see Spock meet Savik/Valeris in new Trek though. d: Bah, she won’t be born either…

Well you would hope he would tell them about some of the worst events that are coming. As far as Will Decker is concerned. By the time of the next movie he may well be born. Considering the Cosmic BoomStick is on its way. Comodor Decker and his crew don’t have to be sacrificied. As far as V’gers return. Spock should tell them to get that command code to it first. Then the problem is with the federation with all of V’gers knoledge. What other problems would that cause. Fun stuff though.

Dunno - I don’t think Spock would tell them very much. Remember, he purposely made Krik believe that if he told Quinto-Spock that Nomoy-Spock were around there would be universe-ending paradoxes that would ensue should he break his promise. Why - cuz he “could not deprive you of the revelation of all that you could accomplish together, of a friendship that will define you both in ways you cannot yet realize.”

If he tells them everything, they may not have the experiences they would that would allow the friendship to grow.

He might tell them some stuff…but I dont think it would be everything.

Maybe instead of Khan being in the next film–he could have aYoutube series. Maybe go shopping and run into Chad Vader

I agree w David–don’t think Spock would tell them everything. I think he’d go all Spock-y and be very mysterious and act like he was actually being perfectly clear.

Like putting too much air in a balloon!

like a balloon and something bad happens!

I want to see the Romulans get all apologetic that their future-peeps destroyed Vulcan. They join the federation while the vulcans withdraw creating a more hostile and aggressive federation. Peace with the klingons does not happen and the prime directive becomes about preserving the federation way of life. Then bring back Malcolm McDowell and doc brown as villains. Somewhere there will still be douche admirals. Someone will call their pet hamster Kahn and he will eat the captains sandwich prompting him to shout KAAaAHN!

Ah wonderful news! hopefully there will be some real forward motion now on the project.

Might want to start checking out your local comic shops. The Star Trek comics that are coming out (based on classic eps. with a new crew spin) may in fact be the adventures that take place between the '09 flick and the upcoming sequel.

Not sure how I feel about 3D. I thought a while back J.J. Abrams said he didn’t want it in 3D as it would restrict certain camera movements. Probably a decision made at a higher level.

I won’t watch it in 3D, but I don’t begrudge it to those who enjoy it. My only request: That the projectors be properly set up so that they don’t leave the 3D armature in place during 2D projection. This has been a thing at many theaters leading to super dim 2D playback. In some of the projectors, it causes a “DRM failure” when the 3D shutter module is removed, so many theaters just leave it in place where it robs 50% of the light.

Well actually (spoiler alert if you haven’t read Star Trek: Nero comics).
As it turns out V’ger is critical in the Star Trek 2009 backstory …See Star Trek Nero comics.
