ST:The Next Generation - The Measure Of A Man 2X09 4/8 @ 10PM ET

Is he backward compatible with Windows 7, and what about my 5th gen iPod video?

800 quadrillion bits is 100 petabytes. Somehow, I think we’ll reach that on home computers long before the 24th century. :stuck_out_tongue:

It’s totally in character and great but I hate hearing Riker refer to Data as “it” - Maddox is an ass so whatever, but Riker, :frowning:

I think later in the series everyone realized that Brett Spinner and Patrick Stewart had real chemsitry so there’s more and more stuff who those two.

This is devastating. Picard has his work cut out for him.

Picard, of course, but that’s not common knowledge by this point.

Riker knows he has to do the job to his fullest otherwise he’s not doing his duty

He is the voice of his client.

I had forgotten about Guinan’s chat with Picard this ep… I feel like a fawning fangirl, but it’s a great moment

I wasn’t sure about Whoopi on Star Trek until this moment.

No? Oh yeah. That episode with Picard and Welsey on that long trip together hasn’t happened yet, right?

Yeah, she earns her way right in this scene.

I get the whole thing with a black actress delivering the broad slavery metaphor, but it doesn’t really work in-universe. She’s not human. She’s not from Earth. Her experiences and racial consciousness are not what they appear.

Yes, my kids are my property.:o

Perhaps, but we’re Earth people (and a lot of USian people) watching, so it is pretty clear. Besides which, Guinan also has lived a long time and seen many things (though I don’t think we know about her 19th century jaunt at this point), so maybe in-universe it could make sense. Need more data.

Data’s face when Picard asks about Tasha…wonderful.

True dat.

Oh, Tasha…

Well, I’m sure slavery isn’t exclusive to only Earth and Earth’s history.

Are you Amish? :stuck_out_tongue:

Even her 19th century visit to Earth made it fairly clear that she was no slave. IIRC, wasn’t her father kind of a big deal back home?

Patrick Stewart delivers a magnificent performance here.
