So, What the Frak was Kara Thrace???

I just watched the episode “you can’t go home again” and noticed that after the “time” (the maximum time that Kara’s oxygen would last) had expired, and after Adama relieved Tigh to continue the search, the very next scene showed Kara trying to repair the cylon raider. In that scene, she looks at her oxygen meter, and it is at the VERY bottom–no oxygen. Kara, had she been mortal, was dead. This supports my interpretation that Kara was the x factor that God or the Gods used to create the circumstances required for the 14th colony to be founded.

i tend to think the atomo at the bottom of that planet was breathable…

if she is god’s instrument, then should mean she died twice.

because if she haven’t died on that planet, what is the poit of her dying the second time?

We saw Katee Sackhoff at NYCC last weekend. Here’s what she had to say about it:

“I don’t know what I am, so stop asking, seriously.”

She is a plot device.

as far as I’m concerned, she belongs in a magic box along with Jacob, the Man in Black, and the Island.

So if Kara was an angel, what was Baltar? I hope he was not god, that would suck.

Kara was the dying leader to bring them home, as in the prophecy.

You know, that’s something else they never explained. WTF was the “magic box” all about?

Arguably, he and Six were prophets of God.

But she wasn’t dying. She had already died and then returned from the dead.

So why was Father Adama never coming back?

He’d had enough. He’d been a leader throughout the series, made the tough decisions, loved, lost and ultimately, won life for his people. He was passing the torch finally and irrevocably. At least that’s what I got out of it.

So what the Frak was kara Thrace??

…umm…really hot?

This is still the only thing I don’t care for about the finale. Even if she’d just said aloud, “My time here is done.” I would have been okay.

Sounds good.

It left me wondering what on Earth Thrace was. That brand new Viper never explained. The dead Charbuck version of her in the wrecked fighter. Then to have her vanish at the end without any clue. It left a great question mark hanging in the air.

I’d have been happy seeing her walk off with Apollo!

Kara Thrace resurrected. Not in the Cylon sense but some other way. Kara had a “special” purpose, chosen by God (yes, I know. He doesn’t like to be called that). The Kara we knew prior to the Season 3 finale died and became Charbuck. As much as the new Kara said she was Kara, she wasn’t. She was a new Kara.

How did she get a new Viper?
Well, if God can create a new Kara, He can create a new Viper.

What is Charbuck?
As I mentioned, old Kara. How she got to Erf? That’s another story. Only God knows. giggle

Why did she vanish?
Like the angels (Baltar and Six), she returned to God.

This is how I saw it. Many people don’t like the whole ‘God did it’ explanation because it is the epitome of deus ex machina and comes off as a giant frak you to the audience. However, deus ex machina is a plot device that comes out of nowhere to solve a problem. In BSG, God has been in the mix from the beginning. So, IMO, it works.

All that being said, did God choose Kara before ‘Maelstrom’? If so, why did she have to die? In Joseph Campbell’s Hero’s Journey, resurrection is a transformation. The hero returns with knowledge to finish their journey. If RDM et. al. were following standard operating procedures for a myth / legend, it makes sense.

Charbuck! LMsBO!

Ouch. :frowning:

It’s too soon…

Good arguments, all, but let’s keep in mind: This is coming from a guy with a mere 31,000 posts.

I kid, I kid. In my book, the Campbell paradigm (which was the paradigm long before Campbell) works every time.

new theory… anyone that fraked Baltar becomes an instrument of God, cause Baltar is god… therefore Starbuck is an instruent of God… IYKWIM…

but she called out Lee’s name when was with Baltar…so is Lee a archangel?

Im confused

Lee obviously turned out to be the chubby buddha.
