No he wasn’t faking. And man that was satisfying!!
I was just offering up another alternative. I don’t think that the ‘higher power’ intervention theory will wash. They’ve mostly stayed away from that sort of thing. There has to be another explanation.
Agreed. Cavil’s probably been meddling with the God legend/myth and the accompanying message this whole time, as far as the S7 are concerned.
Regarding Leoben, think about this. Leoben has been so convinced of what he’s been saying this whole time about Kara’s destiny that when he’s faced with the possibility that either “his” Kara is dead and there are somehow two, he’s wondering how can her destiny be fulfilled. Was death her destiny? That’s terrible for him because he loves her and he wonders how her replacement fits. Is destroying the human race her destiny? That’s terrible for him too because they’ve now made peace and he’s never been much of a warmonger anyway. His conviction has gone because there’s no more clarity.
Forgive me if this has already been stated as its hard to read every post here…
But whatever else Kara may be in addition to all of the possibilities mentioned above, could it be safe to say that at the basic level she is a “clone”of her former self somehow " constructed"by the removal of her ovaries on the Farm? Her “out of body” behavior may be a sign of that.
Not a chance in hell. Why are people so keen to turn a resurrected crazy-arse Viper pilot into a god???
Yep. And he has been consistent with his other revelations/comments too, (cf, Last Supper pic.)
My answer to “What is Starbuck?” ties in with my ongoing “Baltar died at his lake house in the miniseries” obsession: I believe Starbuck, like Baltar, is a somehow-resurrected/reconstructed
With you here, DXF. You all know I’ve done trying to convince the non-believers that Kara and Gauis are ‘constructs’ of some kind, created using already-existing Cylon technology.
“instrument of the the Gods.”
But not quite with you here…
100% correct OT. Again we agree, and I reckon we have been closer to the ‘truth’ more often than not.
Have you been channelling me while I’ve been away? Rehashing my old posts? LOL… I have been banging this drum for ever…
Perhaps this is selfish of me but I just refuse to believe that Starbuck is anything but herself and I don’t think her so-called “resurrection” has anything to do with mysticism or Cylon technology. There are many unanswered questions right now because of the revelation of Erf and I think that’s leading people to conclude some outrageous things. My best guess is that someone has been pulling the strings from the beginning (or at the very least since the end of New Caprica) and the nature of the planet they found and Starbuck’s return is all some big trick to prevent the fleet from finding Earth for real.
If any of us could solve the riddle in “Hero” of the ship that attacked Bulldog, and then disappeared, before the Cylon raiders came up on the screen of Valkyrie, I think that would go a good distance towards identifying who/what/why this whole mess was set in motion.
Speaking of Cavil’s plan on the podcast, that’s what I’m talking about here. The reason Starbuck is the harbinger of death is because maybe once again Cavil ‘cloned’ Starbuck to lead them unknowingly to there end (by Cavil). Leoben doesn’t know because he never told them about the fact he knows the FF or anything beyond. I’m pretty sure the relationship of Starbuck and Anders had something to do with all of this also, being that he is one of the FF, maybe he reveals to her what she is shrug
Spoiler Warning if you haven’t watch the most recent ep… stop reading now!
I think StarBuck is a cylon like the Final Five in away. She is the son of the other Cylon Daniel So she is a half cylon. Her father setup the process for her to be reborn. They said he was an artist as we saw in early season Starbuck painted. So maybe the cylon is not boxed they just think they boxed him and he has helped starbuck and he was in that heavy Raider.
Wow, all of the great ideas here make me think. What if Kara is a Hybrid, or possibly the entire group of Human survivors are all Hybrids? Lots to think of there. I can’t wait to get this answer.
I was hoping to find a clue about “Daniel” to see if there was a Daniel in Mormon (myth/the)ology. The problem with watching Lost, Big Love and BSG all at the same time is the science/mythology/famous name play gets all muddled in my head. I keep thinking though that Starbuck is Daniel simply as a nod to the whole “Starbuck can’t be a girl” controversy from the start of the show.
Somewhere the Beings of Light have to come into play. And I like tieing the wiki description of Aurora as the “goddess of the dawn who renews herself every morning and flies across the sky” to her having the ability to (with help?) resurrecting without a Resurrection Ship.
which is why it frustrates me that the only time she gets in a viper is to get a read for a specific colony. i miss the kara thrace that shoots down cylon raiders.
Just to keep the threads lively…
Starbuck is the Female model of Daniel. After Cavil/John destroyed the original 7, Ellen used her knowledge to re-create the Artistic Daniel. so when she died on ERF, the original resurrection ship, auto resurrected her…
Her existence is known only to Ellen, so Sam would not have known her. And perhaps since she died in a viper the resurrection ship made her a brand new one, just like her old one…

the sacred tablets from Karanovo Thrace (Bulgaria) translate to
(1) Whosoever has been initiated in the Mystery of Death and Resurrection,
he has been born anew and his new nature is Divine.
(2) He has left all Falsehood and has come to know The Truth.
He now reigns in Justice and Truth, with the Scepter and Crown of the Upper Realm,
being the Ruler of both (the Upper and Lower) worlds.
Karanovo Thrace? See that right there is the sorry-Barb that makes my head spin and my wiki itch*. I love those tantilizing, yet possibly just coincidence, clues.
