A super powered mutant zombie so dangerous she was never even considered for mass production
The “how did she get there?” issue has been batted around quite a bit - but good luck finding the threads. Myabe somebody else can help.
From where I stand (as a member of the now defunct Adm. Cain Fan Club) nobody, but nobody has offered a plausible explanation.
As for the baby lab - I thought it was “understood” that this was a breeding center - Cylon “sperm” into human “eggs”. To create “Hera’s” (sort of in reverse). Obviously, the mixed S7/human beings are an “ideal” much sought after by the S7 type Cylons.
As for what happened to all of “them” - I think we are supposed to conclude that Starbuck blew them (the mothers) all to kingdom come. Remember, that’s what the “mother” whom she knew begged her to do.
I also really hate to do this, but I’d really like to hear an explanation or opinion on this as well:
This one is quite a bit simpler - I think - and also has been addressed elsewhere - perhaps on the most recent thread with the word “Erf” in its title.
They clearly are different planets. (Which, of course, raises a lot more questions.) Where they landed is the Cylon Earth (CE). What we saw at the end of Season 3 is Our Earth (OE). That’s why we were not shown much in the way of land masses on the former - and those that we did get a glimpse of appear “gray”. The latter - in addition to be recognizable - is green and verdent - hardly the scene of nuclear obliteration.
OK here’s a long shot. Maybe it’s all a trick by Cavil, the ‘phantom’ heavy raider wasn’t a phantom, the picked up the pieces of Starbucks blown up ship and they made a clone of her. Then maybe Cavil has already been to erf and dropped the charred pieces there to make it seem like Starbuck was there and reborn. They sent the clone (Skin job, what ever she is) with a new viper, which could have easily came from one of the 12 colonies, still left on one of the planets, just fixed the tail number. Then they set up the whole homing beacon thing to get them to erf and lead them into a trap of some kind to destroy the ‘fleet’ once and for all. (Not saying that’s the out come, but that was the plan.) So it’s all a big ruse and that’s why Roslin is still alive because erf is not the true promised land, just a planet that was in the right place for this overly elaborate and extensive scheme that could probably only come from my head.
Make sense? Just an idea, maybe the Cavils knew all along where this planet was since it seems to be the Cylon homeworld, and why he kept pushing about not asking about the FF so it wouldn’t ruin the plan, and do remember “and they have a plan” from the intros.
So yeah, that’s one of my ideas.
I had considered that too. I think Cavil knows more about the F5 then he let anyone else know and as I’ve stated before, I don’t think the S7 and F5 are related directly, but rather circumstantially, somehow.
ummm…really hot???
I got nnothin’ sorry
I’ve been kicking that one around since last season. What I can’t figure is the New Kara has all the same memories and 0 lost time from when she blowed up. Leoben sees in her a destiny, but is he programmed to seek her out or is he really connected to her in some ethereal way?
Who/what brought her viper and corpse to Erf? Does this mean that there is still one more person/thing pulling strings?
You could take this really far as pretty much encompass the whole show. Maybe the scrolls of pithia were written by the Cylons 2000+ years ago on the Cylon homeworld knowing exactly what would happen, but allowing for there race to continue and be reborn later by the decedents aka the 7 and the F5 and this has been the plan all along.
Once again the survivors of what ever happens in the last episodes re-write/introduce the same story again and set out into the stars to begin anew, fully knowing what the outcome will be, but over the years that is forgotten and left only in myth and the scrolls for those who thousands of years in the future will again repeat what the current ‘fleet’ has just done.
There’s the plan and the ‘this has happened before and will happen again’
I also get the impression that he knows something about the FF and it’s contrary to his idea of what the cylon race should be. Maybe he wanted the thought left alone because he knew finding them would mean bad things for the cylons (and true obviously since Cylon civil war has broken out).
Forgive me I’m posting more than anyone. I’m struck by the fact that the FF all new each other intimately in their previous life. When ellen said everything is in place to be reborn I kinda got the idea that maybe the FF created or had a technology that stored their memories for when the next cylon iteration developed the biological body. Does that make them older than just the two cycles? Will they unlock the remainder of their memories and remember what happened to erf?
Maybe, just maybe - given all he seems to know, his “troublesome” nature and as #1 he has some tie in to the lord/god whose name must not be spoken.
Really gets into the process of trying to figure out if he was the first skin job, or were the FF the first sking jobs? Tigh has been Adamas chum for 30 years. Doesn’t that mean that the second the Cylon war was over he was planted among the humans. Of course, it’s impossible to know until they reveal on the show just who these FF are and how they came in existence 2,000 years after they died.
“name must not be spoken”? Did he actually say that at some point?
Pretty much - it’s all set out at Battlestar WIKI. Search “lords of Kobol” - I think it will get you to it.
I’m pretty sure the FF were the first skin jobs (assuming they are machines, which they probably are not) - at least as to “this round” of S7’s. But the S7’s sure have “characteristics” that could make them seem like lords/gods to ordinary humans - say way back when on Kobol.
If I knew (or even had an inkling) how, when, why the FF 2,000 years after CE was nuked were recreated (or whatever) and ended up in The Colonies (born? planted?), I’d put that information in a bottle and sell it.
I’m thinking that Starbuck is the daughter of Ellen and Tigh. That’s why she renewed into 2.0.
I think she was reborn and ‘placed’ with her abusive mother who spoke of her having a ‘destiny’.
Simon took her ovary, and like Pike said, that card has not been picked back up… yet.
GHAAAA! So much to think about!
My guess for Starbuck is that she is the 13th Cylon, for the 13th tribe.
Each of the tribes is named after one constellation in the Zodiac. There are 13 zodiacal constellations (meaning that the Sun passes through these constellations during the course of the year). The 12 we are all familiar with are the 12 astrological signs. The 13th constellation is Ophiuchus the serpent bearer.
HOLY-informative BATMAN… that is some of the most interesting ish ive read inawhile
That’s basically what I was saying, but I had no idea about the Zodiacal constellations. That makes even more sense now then when I first thought of it.
Coddle? I’ve been in the tank for Coddle for a while now.
I think that a few things are clear at this point - because we have been told them by the writers, to “change” the game would seriously weaken the plot and in order to bring the saga to its conclusion:
-
Ellen Tigh is the FC. Period. End of story.
-
Or perhaps, better stated, she is the 12th Cylon.
-
Nothing “says” that “new” Cylon could not have been created since 6 told Baltar that there were 12 and the note to that same effect was left in Adama’s quarters.
-
And it cannot be ruled out that Starbuck #2 is a Cylon of the FF type a/k/a a 13th Cylon. Starbuck #1 was human. But Starbuck #2 is the result of the same technology (including the use of her ovary) that had been developed on Cylon Earth by the time of its destruction and led to Ellen’s comment to Tigh that they would meet again. At that time, they were humans. The Tigh and Ellen we know “today” are clones in the truest sense of the word. Perhaps even emerging from the wombs of their mothers in The Colonies.
Of course, I am well aware that the devil is in the details re all this and that there is a whole lot of explaining to do for all this to “work”.
Here’s my theory… Starbuck is the daughter of Tigh and Ellen. We know that Tigh can have children, and I presume all of the 5 can do so. So Kara would be a 13th cylon to mirror the 13th tribe… this one different from the others. This woud be especially ironic given the antagonism between Tigh and Starbuck earlier in the series.
I have to agree with the (several) people that have speculated that starbuck is effectively whatever the final five are NOW - not what they were on Earth 2000 years ago but what they are now - which is clones. Somehow the final five we “reborn” on the colonies with all their memories hidden deep within their subconcious. Starbuck is that same thing - except for some reason she was “reborn” with her memories in tact. Doesn’t explain the viper but…
I keep coming back to the idea that the final five have some natural way of being reborn - something that isn’t related to machines or computers but something more mystical (oh noes she sed miztical!!!). And the seven took that idea and duplicated it the only way they knew how.
