I wouldn’t mind seeing that. But, does that mean the movie(s) will introduce a new character(s) only to have him/her die 20 seconds later? (:

A 7-year-old girl responds to DC Comics’ sexed-up reboot of Starfire

"I’m not going to rant like Comics Alliance (though you need to read it), or this one by Andrew Wheeler (also an excellent read), Ms. Snarky says it really well too (Go, read, DC editors. Take notes.)

Instead I’m going to hand over my forum and let someone else speak for me. Pay attention, DC. This is my 7 year old daughter.

“But, she’s not relaxing or swimming. She’s just posing a lot.” my daughter appears uncomfortable

“Anything else?”

“Well, she’s not fighting anyone. And not talking to anyone really. She’s just almost naked and posing.”

“Do you think this Starfire is a good hero?”

“Not really.”

“Do you think the Starfire from the Teen Titans cartoon is a good role model?”

immediately “Oh yes. She’s a great role model. She tells people they can be good friends and super powerful and fight for good.” "

More at links. It’s a good read.

Edit: And DC has already responded…
DC Comics’ Reponse to Starfire Controversy: Don’t let your kids read our comics

Really DC, really?

Lol, I love that series, but for teh shortness of the existance of some chars they may as well leave them out… But I’d go see that, buy the DVD, the blu-ray, and the next release w/ the xtra 30sec of new footage

umm Im sorry…was looking at Starfires boobs…what were we talking about?

Now this is Geeky!

Kudos on your geekiness, may your marriage be stronger than those of the characters you are emulating.

Hey - did you guys hear there is a Mortal Kombat reboot…for the big screen??

EDIT - a writer for the big screen adaptation of Foundation has been found

This made me want to cry. Very perceptive of the kid to notice that not only is new Starfire mostly naked, she also doesn’t say or do much of anything. I actually don’t mind some of the overly sexed up female superhero stuff, sometimes, at least. Lord knows I like boobs. But a nearly naked Starfire whose boobs have gone from generous to the size and softness of those mini-watermelons you can get, who also doesn’t say or do much of anything? That is the suck.

Sometimes kids aren’t as oblivious to that sort of thing as adults think they are. Sometimes, they can just smell BS.

My favorite line as a kid after hearing, “Ask me again when you’re older.”

I’d respond, “By the time I’m older, I’d have forgotten when I’m supposed to ask about.” - Arnold Jackson, Diff’rent Strokes

It got a laugh, but I never did found out what I was asking about or remembered what I was suppose to re-ask. Frakkin’ adults. d:

Edit: Holy cow! She has 240 Comments now!

I am so looking forward to anything Arrested Development. I like the idea of having a TV “miniseries” to re-introduce the characters. After Firefly, this show may be the biggest “never gonna give up hope” on the Internet. … Which leads to the question, would an AD movie mean that everyone dies?
