The Stand should NEVER be made into a live-action movie or miniseries ever again. We’ve tried twice now and it was not good. Like most of Stephen King’s work, the suspense and pathos comes from being inside the characters’ minds. Unfortunately, since this one has supernatural elements mixed into an otherwise recognizable world, albeit one decimated by the Super Flu, the exterior plot feels hollow when separated from the interior.
Affleck has proven himself a good director. I just wouldn’t trust ANYONE to do justice to The Stand.

As a fan, if they did a movie, the very least it would need to be a trilogy. Too much good stuff in there to make it a two hour thing.
