Photography - Project 365

Thanks for all the advice! I do have a blast when I take pictures. I only have 2 lenses so I am just playing around them! As for memory card yes I have a 4gb and so far that is good for now.

January 10, a can of one of my favorite desserts, MANJAR (also known as arequipe and dulce de leche)

Part of being a good at taking pictures is taking a great deal of them. Look at pictures you take and others and try to figure out why you think they are good. Then take pictures like them. I could spout out photography 101 but that has always been my best recommendation.

1/8/09 Orange tree.

1/9/09 The house across the street had a fire. The fire plug is in my front yard.

1/10/09 The big fur ball.

Ok I just joined the GWC 365 and added a pic  This was one of my first SLR Pics.

I made the comment on the Flikr 365 but just incase you did not see it. You have a good eye and followed many of the “rules” you would learn in a class. It is a great shot and well balanced etc. Be proud.

Still running a day behind, but here is my photo from yesterday.

Our dog Missy drags the blankets we have scattered around for the dogs into a corner of the sunroom and uses them as her personal sleeping pad. Here she realizes that I am about to take them away so the other dogs will have something to lie on.

thank you so much! never took a class just always played around with pictures a few yrs ago. I am going to look in taking a class just need to find one in my area! I will try and take a pic a day and post them!

I always try and to get a shot when people arent expecting and thats not as easy as it sounds…

Now I just need to take lots of pictures and trial and error!

Keeping with the pet/animal theme…

Our older lab. He’s tired of me taking his picture!!

And here is today’s…

I was outside the High Museum of Art in Atlanta, which has a glass-roofed awning over it’s entrance, and happened to look up. It had been raining and water had collected on the awning, giving this interesting view of the buildings beyond.

Good eye! Very nice.

11 Jan:
Just some birds I saw today. Nothing special. Poor lighting and bad wintery conditions. I am not trying to do artistic shots, but rather what I see in the occurrence of a regular day. I figure it will be interesting to look back at in a year. I have been enjoying seeing everyone else’s pictures. Keep at it!

I envy your commitment to taking a picture every day. I am more of a weekend warrior when it comes to pictures, and you all know my primary subject. I still like to think of myself as a photographer and not just a Dad with a camera, and once in a while the elements come together in a way that I really like. I took this yesterday:

and am very pleased with it. If you guys don’t mind, I’ll toss in the occasional picture as a small contribution to your greater project.

Beautiful.

And I don’t see why they need to be contiguous days…

January 11 is up, and I am much more pleased with this one than I have been with the ones I’ve taken the past few days.

Thanks man. That reminds me of my favorite Steven Wright joke:

I went down the street to the 24-hour grocery. When I got there, the guy was locking the front door. I said, ‘Hey, the sign says you’re open 24 hours.’ He said, ‘Not in a row!’

Hah! I was going to append that joke to my comment!

Very nice picture, Solai.

January 12.

I’m trying to branch out a bit in how I frame shots…
