Mass Effect News!

On Feb 1, 2013 the Actor Robin Sachs passed away. Rest Well Zaeed - the universe is a less interesting place without you.

“Thinking about some past missions. Got a minute? You might learn something.” – Zaeed Massani

I agree. I’m all for more Mass Effect, even though I’m leery of the next Mass Effect game because no Shepard, I can’t wait to see what the next DLC brings but I’ll still have my own head canon ending because my FemShep was really looking forward to those little blue children and as far as I’m concerned she got them.

And Shep and Garrus are chillin on a beach somewhere kicked back drinkin a beer

Robin Sach’s fan site is posting a back log of convention and television appearances to his YouTube Channel robinsachs

Robin’s two dogs, Tiny and Fiona, had to be sheltered overnight by the police but are now in temporary custody of his ex. As of today, they do need a home and quickly. By all accounts, loving animals that were well cared for. Pass the word around to anyone of potential help living in the greater Los Angeles area. Over 600 shares since last night, which looks encouraging, however that is no guarantee something will get done that needs doing. Share the dog’s picture and plight, if you would, a contact email for inquiries is also in the photo thread here.

I was sorry to hear about Robin Sachs, the guy had a pretty amazing career. Take a look at his credits, the guy did a lot of great scifi including Galaxy Quest and Babylon 5:

Hells yeah DP. Pretty common “Head Cannon” as ol_whatsername coined:

OPERATION: NIGHTFALL

Calling all Quarian resistance fighters. Time to take the fight to the rank and file Geth troops on the ground:

Event Description: Our concentration on Reapers and Cerberus forces has allowed Reaper-controlled geth to flourish in pockets outside of the Perseus Veil. Our quarian-led and quarian-advised forces will be the key to terminating a geth offensive before it gains ground.

Individual Goal: Playing as any quarian kit, earn 50,000 points versus geth troopers.

OK: Aside from Tali I’ve never been overly fond of the Quarians, esp. after the VR bits in ME3. That being said, I guess if I ever want to get the Machinist Mastery Challenge I’ll need to break out a Quarian or two. From a role-play perspective, it will be fun to see full teams of Quarians taking on Geth tho

Quarians are less than popular lately. This is Bioware nudging players towards another less well traveled part of the game. I’ve been kicked from certain snobbier Gold lobbies for just choosing a Quarian class, my gear choice didn’t matter.

If using Sabotage, best go with Explosive Hack evolution. Nearly almost everybody will happily, giddily, monotonously shoot at each and every one of your hacked targets. And when you’ve turned an Atlas, a turret, a Geth Prime, the waste starts to really chap your ass. So, second best alternative is to at least make the hack 'splodey. It’s like nobody remembers hacking in ME2. /rant

Just like Volus + Volus doesn’t equal two Voluses, but an incredible undroppable roly poly juggernaut shield of imba, two Quarians can get up to some serious cheese. Grinding for 50,000 ought be to quite funny.

“It is against Trooper units specifically. There are issues having to upload 5 separate checks (each Quarian kit) vs each and every Geth unit type. This way, only 5 checks are needed, vs 30 checks (each quarian kit multiplied by each geth unit type).” - (Bioware) Derek Holloran @ BSN

After action report Head Canon Special Edition:

QMI ArcWeldvasSnipe: Lazy Commander! Progress on Operation Nightfall has languished at 67% all weekend!

QFI SueVasNormandy: I am armed only with a shotgun and do not relish the thought of returning to battle. The Commander expects me to fend off the Geth with cloaked head shots and little else. My cloak duration is just not long enough. I am constantly beaten by the Geth, the other races cannot understand the greatest fear of a Quarian, a cracked face shield.

Arc: The stockpiled medi-gel acquired during many fruitless purchases has made the Commander wasteful and reckless. All to no good end, the Cerberus Harrier weapon is never in the box.

Sue: We are support…

Arc: I know! My Tactical Scan goes unused. Our tactical abilities are misunderstood, unappreciated. My grenades are powerful, yes, but I am ever so much more.

Commander: TELL ME WHAT IS IN THE BOX.

Arc: Hurricane +1. AP Rounds III.

Sue: I’m sorry Commander.

Arc: Even if it were in the box, I wouldn’t care. I want my sniper rifle back! It will NEVER be in the box.

Sue: Should you choose to evolve my Quarian Defender ability, the bonus SMG weight allowance is ideal for combination with this fine weapon we do have. Think of the many tactical possibilities using stealth and guile that, ummm, don’t use a shotgun.

Arc: Respec us now. I demand to speak to the Earth Alliance. They must know about this Ahab we are enslaved to.

Commander: You two are going back in the box. We’re done here.

As soon as Qae vas Arachon touched down on Firebase Glacier he knew something was wrong. N7 HQ, in conjunction with Quarian tactical command, had called on all available troops to step up activites against the Geth as part of Operation: Nightfall. He and the his team were eager heed the call and take up arms against their ancient enemy.

The air in the abandoned Cerberus laboratory crackeled with unnatural energy. The sound of a million shorting circuits mixed with an insect-like screech put Qae instantly on edge.

The squad’s newest member, the rookie infiltrator Ver’in vas Rammah, looked shaken, her head darting from side to side as she tried to determine the source of the sound and the unworldly red glow that bathed the platform.

Rehzin vas Rammah turned to Ver’in and quickly placed a reassuring hand on her shoulder before she triggered her omni tool, establishing a turret in the hall to the right of the landing pad. “Seeker swarm. Just our luck, but nothing to worry about.”

The team’s other infiltrator, Nomek vas Al’Fezak was a shimmering blur as he had already cloaked was moving towards the stairs at the left of the landing area. “Agreed” his voice crackled over the coms. “The Geth will fall regardless.”

Qae shouldered his harrier and readied his tactical scan. “Confirmed. Squad move out. Keep an eye out for that swarm and conserve ammo” he said “For Rannoch and for the fleet!”

“For Rannoch!” echoed the rest of the squad over the comms. Today the Geth would pay.

After action report: as expected, if was fun playing with full Quarian squads over the weekend, if not a bit frustrating due to the lack of shields and health… N7 Eagle II in my pack, but more goodies in arsenal packs including an upgraded Graal and Phaeton

Not quite more DLC… but cool none the less. Announced today on the @MassEffect twitter feed

Nice. Another game I’ll get and never really play. :stuck_out_tongue:

Feb 12 Multiplayer build changes from the BioWare Forums Here

All buffs this time around and 2x the love for sniper rifle fans…

Biotic Charge Power

 • Evolution 5 chance of not causing a cooldown increased from 33% to 50%

Annihilation Field Power

 • Evolution 5 damage bonus increased from 50% to 65%

Hydraulic Joints Gear

 • Melee damage bonus increased from [5%-15%] to [10%-20%]

Collector Sniper Rifle

 • Damage increased from [68.3-85.4] to [73.0-91.3]

Incisor Sniper Rifle

 • Damage increased from [93.3-116.6] to [98.0-122.5]

Sweet that fits well for my berserker. He mainly uses that laser thing a lot, then use Biotic Charge to recharge the shield. Should help out when I need to use Biotic slash. Though I wish they had increased my Sniper rifle I use with him. Hate that it is an uncommon weapon which makes it tough to get an upgrade for it.

Your love is like a tidal wave
Spinning over my head
Drowning me in your promises
Better left unsaid

Vorchey the Vorcha Sentinel: KILL IT WITH FIRE!!!

Commander: WHAT’S IN THE BOX?

Vorchey: Hurricane +1

Commander: No, that was in the box last week.

Vorchey: YES

Commander: …

Vorchey: AND THIS WEEK… TOO.

Commander: …

Vorchey: 200/200 Vorcha Sentinel Waves Completed. STRONGER!!!

OPERATION: HEARTBREAKER - COMPLETE

Some people cry and some people die
By the wicked ways of love
I’ll just keep on rollin’ along
With the grace of the Lord above…

Abuse my love a thousand times, however hard I tried
Heartbreaker, your time has come, can’t take your evil way
Go away, heartbreaker, heartbreak, heartbreak, heart

TH – nicely done sir.

I actually pulled out my Vorcha Sentinel for this one too. It seems that flamethrower + grenades = dead Banshees. N7 Valkyrie in my pack. I also got my 200,000 pts for the Graal in the course of the match, which means a paltry 160 waves more with a Krogan Sentinel and I’ll have my Bloodpack Mastery Challenge done - Monster Banner here I come!

Well you did better then me.

We all knew it had to happen sooner or later…

Yes, you can add the DLC mid-playthru.

Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD

Yup, what Splat’ said

I actually held off finishing my last ME3 play through when I heard Omega was coming out so that I could slot it into a good position in the story.
