Mass Effect 2 Spoilers Thread

I’m having a hell if a time with this game. Thankfully, I figured out how to target while paused.

But, the hacking interface for wall safes and whatnot makes me want to get my money back. I spend so much time on those. Not fun, very frustrating.

I feel for you buddy. The first game was probably much easier as far as the hacking goes. I do think the new system makes more sense (as far as what hacking should look like) but does require a greater dexterity then the first.

All I can suggest is that there are upgrades you can buy to give you added time. I believe they are on Omega and Illium.

Spent 45 minutes on two doors and I’m still not pass the 2nd. My arm is sore from the attempts.

I’ll look for the upgrades. Hopefully, they aren’t expensive.

This must be what birds feel like.

Does it (PC version) allow you to use the arrow or WASD key to move the cursor or do you have to use the mouse?

You win the award for Patience my friend.

For hacking, you can use the keyboard, and that’s great. For symbol matching, you must use the mouse which sucks.

Arrow keys do nothing and that sucks too.

Well I guess I should ask, has anyone gotten to the base with all loyal and not had their crew gooified?

The collector attack on the Normandy is triggered by the derelict reaper mission. If you trigger the suicide mission right after the crew is abducted, you can save them, otherwise they become collector goo. So you can get everyone loyal (even Legion!) if you finish all the other recruitment/loyalty missions before the reaper mission. If you talk to Legion right away, then do his loyalty mission, you should have enough time before the Collectors attack. Then you can save Kelly and Company.

They were still alive when I reached them but I decided not to send anyone back with them because I wanted the achievement. So mine weren’t gooified, just shot. :frowning: I have read that if you wait too long to use the Omega 4 after they are captured they will be dead on arrival.

Mine were gooified, cept for Chakwas.
I wanted to explore everything before I went.

Side note bout Chakwas, anyone else love how after you share a drink with her shes lying on a cot? :stuck_out_tongue:

Uhh… How do I find Ilium? Do I have to find the 1st 4 recruits first and do Horizon?

Omega only had the text match upgrade. Ilium has the symbol matching one.

It is in the Crescent Nebula / Tasale System / Second planet. You recruit two more team members there after the first four. If the Crescent Nebula is in your Galaxy Map I would look, If not you will have to finish Horizon to get the list from IM.

Yeah, I made sure to finish everything else before going for the IFF.

That was another moment that made me emotional. They added so many great little moments to this game. I wasted a lot of time just making sure I didn’t miss anything and came in at a whopping 70 Hrs.

P.S. Don’t spend a lot of time scanning for minerals. Just a couple min on each Rich planet should set you up. I had tons of extra. :frowning:

P.S.S. Does anyone else get the feeling that the bartender at Eternity is Liara’s Dad?

So more frustrating games of memory. I’m getting better at it. Instead of taking 20 minutes at them, it now takes me ten. d:

I did get a hint off one site while looking for how to get to Ilium. I play at 1680x1050. If you lower the game resolution to 1152, there’s less screen to cover. So, I’l try that.

I certainly did, especially since she specifically referenced being the father of a pureblood daughter and it not working out. The bartender is actually one of my favorite characters in the game because she frakkin’ cracks me up, especially the facepalm when talking to Conrad. I giggle thinking about Liara trying to carry on a conversation with the very blunt Martriarch.

Has anyone else noticed that you can practically watch the whole game on Youtube.

I thought Aria T’Loak was Liara undercover for a good bit of the game until I met her

It’s been like that for a while. I got to enjoy Final Fantasy 12 and Force Unleashed on Youtube.

Also… Harbinger is a freakin’ Shadow!

alright just finished my first play through!

I lost Legion and Mordin :frowning:

I thought Legion would be the perfect one to go through the vents but he got pwned in the face cries

Mordin died while I was fighting the last boss

sigh

I had every single team member loyal, and I blew up the station…I really wish keeping it wouldn’t have been the renegade option, if I had personally been in that situation I would have kept it…especially at the end when you see the Reaper fleet or whatever you’d like to call it moving in towards the galaxy

RIP Friends :frowning:

It must have been the leader you picked for the fireteam. If they aren’t a good leader the specialist will die.

I double spoiler this just in case:
These were my choices:
-Tech Specialist - Legion
-Fireteam Leader - Garrus
-Second Fireteam Leader - Miranda
-Biotic Specialist - Samara
-Crew Escort - None (they all died) :frowning:
-Final Battle - Legion and Grunt
On another note, Mordin just told me that he had to cure a Vorcha STD that got on the ship. WTF, I blame Zaeed.

Just finished it. I lost Jacob. I’ll do better next time. I didn’t want to go near any guides or spoilers for my first play through, but now I know what triggers the deaths of various characters so I’ll know what to watch for.

What an amazing game. Roll on ME3. Is there anything to be done after the game is finished. I’ve explored everywhere.

My first game was with my boy scout soldier, my next game will be with my morally ambigous adept and my third will be with my ruthless engineer.

I’m pretty sure Aria is the Asari Merc Aleena that Wrex mentions in ME1. There were some very obvious references there if you can get her to tell you about herself. So in a way she is undercover, I’m just glad they didn’t try to make her Liara undercover. It’s crazy enough hearing innocent Liara trying to intimidate people by channeling her mother but hearing curse like Aria does might be too much. I have never been so glad to see a video game character as I was to see Liara. I could get through without the rest of the ME1 crew but it wouldn’t be the same without Liara so I’m exceedingly glad that she is guaranteed to be in ME3 in some way since she is the only character who can’t die so far in the trilogy.
