Mass Effect 2 Spoilers Thread

My first game I lost Garrus and Mordin, my second game I lost Legion and on my third game I kept everyone alive.

Uh…She can die.

for the first fireteam I picked Samara, I figured she had experience, but I suppose she’s use to working alone which might be why Legion died

You would think 1000 yrs would give her the experience.

How awesome is it that there is so much variation in each persons outcome? I love this game!

Finally fininshed and managed to get everyone back. No deaths! Yaaah.

I think Samara was a bit of a loner and not a leader. I assumed the team leaders had to have military or quazi military experience leading soldiers or soldier types. I chose the obvious two that fit the bill, though I think there might have been other acceptable choices. Not sure. I always went with the obvious and had no trouble.

Things I loved:

–Mordin’s Gillbert and Sullivan’s patter song. To die for!
–Mordin’s reaction when he thought Shepard was hitting on him.
–Mordin.
–The email spam and personalized ad kiosks. Too funny.
–The new way to get resources. I did not have the need to land on every planet. I just listened to my MP3 on one occasion and gathered everything I needed. Done. If I landed on a planet, something interesting happened.
–Hearing how the various side quests from ME1 ended. Nice to know that someone cared. Shepard made a difference. Sniff.
–The assari comando’s reaction to Miranda’s skimpy outfit during Miranda’s quest. I was thinking the same thing!
–Getting to know Tali better. Never did take a shining to her in ME1. Like her much better now.
–Garrus’ bone headed double entendres during the romance build up.
–Paragon Shepard’s reaction to Grunt’s naive yet blood thursty exploration of who he is in the universe.
–Joker and EDI’s banter.

I could go on all day. Great fun.

wow I kept telling my buddy to be careful in his choices, but his message left on my facebook wall while I was at work today…looks like it didn’t turn out too well for him:

Legion, KIA when the core of the Normandy overloaded. Thane, KIA attempting to close the blast doors. Grunt, KIA in a firefight, bodies of his enemies piled around him. Garrus, KIA by the swarm, attempting to hold back the collectors as Mirandas biotic field collapsed. Jack, Mordin, and Tali, KIA, fell holding off coll…ectors during the destruction of the reaper.

Their sacrifices will not be forgotten.

Because you will never let him forget about it. :stuck_out_tongue:

I would have fallen into a deep depression if that were me. Can’t wait to see what happens to the Crew’s crew’s. IYKWIM

They should do a Big Frakkin ME2 cast after they are all done.

Liara is the only character cannot die in either of the games.

I hate to keep ranting about this game, but it keeps ticking me off. I went to Ilium to get that hacking upgrade (thanks for the pointer btw). I did the two recruitment missions while I was there. I want to now go back and get Tali (and, do more loyalty missions), but the freaking game won’t let me! Holy linear plot, Batman!

Can I get her later after the Collectors mission, or am I now Tali-less unless I decide to redo a mission from a previous save?

At this rate, I’m going to wind up finishing the game just because I started it. Ugh!

Side note: I’ve been using Blood Dragon Armor from the get go, and I miss not seeing Sheppard’s face. Is/are there better armor I should keep an eye out for?

There isn’t any actual armor to buy just parts that can change the N7 armor.

Once you’ve done so much of the plot you are forced to go to Horizon and the Collector Ship, you can still do other missions later.

It is a fun mission now that I’ve done it. But, I can’t figure out for the life of me why I keep getting 5 renegade points. I’ve fought through the husks 4 times now.

Same when I recruited Samara. It seems mandatory that I take renegade points no matter what when she joins.

No ma’am. If you screw up the “who’s the shadow broker agent” mission she’s gonna get killed.

Going to the wreaked collector ship is basically a forced half point mission, similar to Horizon. It came up after I got Samara. The IM asks to talk and you go right in. After that mission is over EDI determines that you need an “IFF” before going through the Omega 4. You can still do all the missions after the collector ship. Just make sure you do everything you want before going for the IFF.

I have never seen anything about this. Are you saying that you think not finding the correct Observer will put her at risk in the future?

P.S. I think Miranda’s dad will be the shadow broker.

So can you fit armor parts that will be better than Dragon Armor?

Thanks to you both.

I would say “better” depends on your needs and fighting style. Here is a link that lists the different armor and pieces. You can check out there stats and see if a combination will be better for you.

Leaving the helmets on the special sets was a stupid move on Biowares part. The whole premise of the game is that character is unique to you, of course I want to see their face as much as possible.

Considering who the Observer is and the fact that she’s hunting down the Shadow Broker? I think it’s highly, HIGHLY likely. Like 99%

Has anyone lost their Sheppard yet. I understand it’s possible but I’m not sure what you would need to do. Something to avoid I think.

Thanks.

Btw, I <3 Kal’Reegar. ^^

I have not but this is what I know:
If both the people you take to fight the last battle die there will be no one to pull you up when you jump to the Normandy and Shepard will fall to her death.
You can search on Youtube for a video.

This is interesting because it seems like you have a different perspective then the rest of us but it gets me thinking.

The game leads us to believe that Nyxeris is the Observer. But…
-We know the Observer is female
-The Observer is a senior agent of the Shadow Broker
-Liara says she is after the Shadow Broker
-Liara killed Nyxeris because of the information she had
-Illusive Man said Liara was working for the Shadow Broker and could not be trusted
-Illusive Man can’t be trusted

Are you saying that Liara is the Observer? The more I think about it the more I think it is possible. Even if she is we don’t know her true intentions. She could be a double agent or out for self interests.

She couldn’t have died yet so save major plot devices (like Shepard’s death in ME2) we should fully expect her to have an interesting story in ME3 and a life or death choice. (Hopefully a marriage choice also. :D)

I got used to all the unique accents from the Quarians that it feels weird to hear an American accent from them. But Adam Baldwin is a born soldier and teh awesome.

I had to look up who the voice was. The delivery was great. I felt I recognized Keith David. I looked up Aria and was shocked!
