I don’t mean to tell you how to play the game, but if it makes you feel icky and sick, why continue? I’m just curious because I doubt it’ll get any better.
Because Zaeed lights a dude on fire with a frakkin ejecting thermal clip!!!
oh so you like it when a guy in a video game does it, but when I do it you look at me like I’m insane!
You can get him to do that with enough paragon points too. d:
What how, I thought that going the paragon route makes it so the head of the Blue Suns escapes?
Yes, but with a nearly full or full Paragon bar, you can still make him Loyal.
What’s that gotta do with setting a dude on fire with an ejected thermal clip?
That’s his power. You get it after he becomes loyal no matter what.
On the Paragon route e does something similar, but I’ll let you find out.
I do it because i am interested in seeing how all the stories play out over the trilogy. So i brave thru it.
And you actually get a cut scene of him setting a guy on fire. Not using his thermal grenade. He covers a guy in gas and then ejects a hot shell from his gun which sets the dude on fire. That part was pretty cool actually.
That’s what I was referencing.
Even tho I had the points for the paragon dialog and got Zaeed to be loyal I still dont trust the guy. Well, not like I trusted him before, even my renegade wanted to punch him in the face for making me tag along on his vendetta. But still, not a dude who inspires a whole lot of confidence. Damn mercs. Im glad you get to cut thru so many in ME2; scum, the whole lot of em.
sighs What I was hinting at is that he almost sets himself on fire with an ejected shell. Instead, the shell causes an explosion and Shepard has to decide to save him or leave under the debris.
I took Zaeed along to get Jack this time to mix things up a little (I took Grunt the other times).
At one point, I was shooting at a Blue Sun and thought to myself, “Huh? Why isn’t his health going down? I’m nailing him.” Turned out it was Zaeed. He looked similar to Blue Suns from the back in that particular lighting. I put like 3 heavy pistol shots into him. Oops.
I’m not taking Zaeed anywhere anymore…
I accidentally shot Jacob once too, but that was his fault for going in front of me. Never trust an Engineer with a gun…
They got some funny reactions when you accidentally shoot them. I think Im going to accidentally-on-purpose hit my team on the next few missions just to hear what they say.
anyone else find it fun to bring legion along for Tali’s loyalty mission.
Someone asked earlier about saving everyone. One of the BioWare folks talked about that on the official forums. Here’s the condensed version.
-
Make sure you have all of your upgrades before going on the IFF mission. Once you do that one in order to save any of your crew you have to go through the Omega 4 relay (almost) immediately. You can do Legion’s loyalty mission and that’s it. Any other delay, even if it is just to mine resources to finish your upgrades, will result in crew member deaths.
-
Make sure everyone is loyal. Do everyone’s loyalty mission and make sure your Paragon/Renegade score is high enough that you can finish both the Miranda/Jack and Tali/Legion confrontations with both staying loyal and either do Zaeed’s mission the way he wants to or make sure your Paragon/Renegade score is high enough to talk him down if you don’t. For every member of your squad that isn’t loyal, someone will die (and not necessarily the one who isn’t loyal).
-
Make sure you assign the right person to the right job. During the final assault you have to make three decisions. The person who goes into the vents must be your best tech person. That’s either Tali or Legion. The person who provides the biotic barrier against the swarms must be your best biotic. That’s either Jack or Samara. And the ones who hold the door must be your two best defenders; that’s Garrius and Grunt.
-
Take your two favorite attackers with you on the final push.
Overall a hidden score will be calculated based on what upgrades you have, squad loyalty, who you assign to what tasks and so on. If this score is too low then someone will die. Every character has a hidden “toughness” rating (again modified by upgrades and loyalty) and the ones with the lowest toughness will be the ones to fall. He said that Mordin is the “squishiest” (his term) character so he is usually the one who dies. (Jack is actually the second squishiest; she’s strong offensively but weak defensively). Mordin is a good choice to send back with the crew to the Normandy. (He was running a clinic on Omega so he’s actually a pretty good doctor.)
Any squaddies you take with you on the final mission that is not loyal will be killed. If both die then Joker will not be able to pull Shepherd into the Normandy after the jump and Shepherd will die.
If Shepherd dies you will not be able to import that save into Mass Effect 3. Your Shepherd’s story is over at that point.
I think this is all elsewhere in this thread but I figured it might be worth having it all in one place.
I want to youtube that to satisfy my curiosity. I took Tali on Legion’s mission once though. The scene immediately following the mission flows better I think.
I think I’ll take Miranda on Jack’s mission this time.
<3 tanstaafl. Thank you!! Wow, I made some boneheaded mistakes I guess.
I wondered how Shepard could die.
Now, I’m curious how high you can get the body count even with loyalty and upgrades…
So I have a theory that in ME3 you are at some point going to have to compete with a Shepard Clone possibly controlled by the Shadow Broker. I think this because there are multiple times when you go thru a scanner they want to check that it is really you because it is easy for people to put on new faces and disguise who they are.
Also it would explain how you can have a character in ME 3 if your Shepard dies in ME 2.
Bioware has said that if your Shepherd dies in ME 2 then it means that “your” Shepherd’s story is over and so you will not be able to import that game into ME 3 (and will have to use their default start).
