Life is teh suck today because (a.ka. the official B_tch & Moan thread)

Not to mention Robert Smith’s importance in stopping Barbara Streisand’s quest for supreme executive power.

2nd: What an intense and well-done movie that was. Disturbing, but great.

I knew it was based on a true story, but I didn’t know that story until after seeing the movie, so the ending was particularly shocking to me. :frowning:

Yes! That was an awesome South Park ep.
Even though you’re my arch-nemesis Poofy, you do have excellent taste.

Note to self: remember to decline TFG’s offer to visit Reichenbach Falls.

Hey, I’ve been there, what’s wrong with that place?

Are nemeses still trying to throw each other off the Reichenbach? Dude, that’s so 19th century! What’s a 21st century equivalent, I wonder.

I did not catch that reference. So thanks for the help.
Now I’m totally going to invite you to Reichenbach Falls, but I will explain in detail my evil plan to you before I do. (Wait, which of us is the evil one again?)

You both are!

My real life arch nemesis is in the office today, bugging the crap out of me. I wish it wouldn’t lose me my job to tell him how I really feel.

I can relate. My real-life arch nemesis co-worker is a worm and an arrogant idiot. Problem is he’s on the opposite corner of the country from me and he goes to lunch every day with the boss.

My husband totaled his car. The insurance will give us $6,000 to replace it. Sure we can get something that we will not have to put money into for that price.

Hubby is great  and fighting for them to just fix the car. Oh, the car dealer is nice enough to try to find something comparable to replace the car. He found one that is three years younger but it is $12,000. We like to buy our cars new and for cash and then drive them to they are only worth something for scrap mettle. Hubby had an old car but since we took care of it it was not pretty but it got us where we want to go. Unlike many areas if you do not have a car you do not go anywhere. We do not have a train or bus around where I live.

(Thinking good thoughts) My husband is healthy and we are saving on having to put gas in two cars.

Glad to hear that your hubby is ok. Sux about the car.

So glad he’s ok!

So my day was going great until I got an e-mail from my aunt. She had to put her kitty to sleep today. :frowning: They had her for 15 yrs.

Glad to hear everyone’s healthy. Sounds like it was time for a new car anyway.

Glad to hear he’s doing well. The car died a noble death, destroying itself in an effort to keep your husband form harm.

Kind of a crappy time to get a loan for a new car, isn’t it?

15 years, wow. A long-time member of the family. Sorry to hear that. :frowning:

Well it had a great engine and the air, radio, etc works. I also am working on lasts years contract and do not know if I will have insurance etc. when we get it settled. Oh and the county may not even give us back pay if we get our entitled (experience) step raise. I am a teacher of 25 years and have to worry about money and my $80 dollar a month for one prescription I have to pay. I wish I could vote for my own raise like the government can.

Oh and I had a student who went to hell for two weeks. I called home because he is such a good kid and he seemed to be really crashing. I found out that his dad told him he never wanted to see him again. Dang what a heavy thing to dump on a teenager.

Now to follow my rules I must go to the coooool crap thread and match my B & M post.

Give your Aunt some support from a pet lover to another.

I have a concert this evening. It’s a short and, I thought, simple program that has turned out to be a difficult ordeal of extra rehearsals and long nights, all on a huge sleep deficit. To complicate it all, when I got home Wednesday night my wife was conked out on the couch with flu-like symptoms and a refusing-to-sleep Elena keeping her awake. I had to help out, obviously, but I was somewhat reluctant (especially later, at 2 a.m.) because I had to get up early the next day for a rehearsal (in Silver Spring, a half hour away which, thanks to DC traffic, took me an hour and a quarter to navigate). The six year old is also sick and home from school. I have a friend from grad school arriving today to hear a piece she wrote on this program and last night Elena decided to wake up at 12:30 and not go back to sleep till after 2 AND the oldest got up with a coughing fit in the middle of all that (I ended up sleeping on the floor of her room to keep her company while Elena slept in our bed w/mommy).

Two hours later I had to get up for work. Being nauseous and unable to see straight, however, I decided that there was no way in hell I was getting in a car to drive the hour or so it takes me to get to Baltimore, so I called in sick and cancelled my morning classes.

Oof, Armando. And Leah. And everybody. I feel lucky to be merely suffering thru my first cold of the season.

Funny – well, not funny, but… – how all that can clump together. Hang in there, everyone. The nice thing about being whacked with Zeus’s sh*thammer is this: at least you know where it is, and you’re not waiting for the other shoe to drop.

Feel better Aramando. Good luck with everything!
