Maligayang Bati, Galaxy Ranger!
(Happy Birthday, Galaxy Ranger!)
You really don’t know the show “Leave it to Beaver”? Or are you just bluffing? Sometimes I forget how young you are. Also, I suppose it’s probably a uniquely american show, and not one that gathered much appeal overseas.
“Leave it to Beaver” was a sitcom from the 50s/60s about a family living in bucolic (am I using that word right?) suburban town in the 50s. The show ended before I was born, but I remember watching it in reruns before the school bus came each morning.
The younger boy in the family nicknamed Beaver would always git into mischief and funny situations. Theodore “Beaver” Cleaver was played by Jerry Mathers who has the same birthday as you.
So I’m thinking you’re the “The Beave” and Topgun is your older brother Wally Cleaver trying to keep you out of trouble. And I guess I’m Eddie Haskell the neighbor boy who is always saying “Well don’t you like nice today Mrs. Cleaver” to Beaver’s mother–in a very skeevy way.
I’m Wally ?? Ok, I’m down with that !
So GR, whenever you screw up, it’s my job to say
“Gee Beeve, why’d you wanna go do a goofy kid thing like that ?” and the like …
And I always beat you into the bathroom when it’s time to brush your teeth or get ready for school…sweeeet !
Actually I’m using Brown (UPS). My brother-in-law works for them and you’d be surprised how much red-tape involved in shipping live animals. Not to mention the Mofu.
And the ant eater keeps sticking it’s tongue out of the airholes in the box…
…IYKWIM …ooo…that felt a little dirty saying that one
Just to be safe, why don’t you send me a couple Mofu too. Wait, no–they are the friend of the ants. Now I’m all confused.
I’m gonna need to appoint you, FT, as Ward Cleaver to solve this dilemma for me and the Beave.
Plus there’s a whole double entendre that’s probably meaningless to a non-native English speaker…
“Beaver” isn’t the same in the German tongue?
You should be ashamed for even reaching for such low-hanging fruit.
Happy Birthday friend drink and be merry get lots of presents, don’t do anything boring or work related just enjoy
p.s. your racetrack is on back order right now apparently she’s needed to find earth or something, but they insist she’s on her way.
No idea, but I doubt it. Most such slang tends to be very language-specific.
You should be ashamed for even reaching for such low-hanging fruit.
And yet, somehow I’m not.
As a concession, I’ll allow “low-hanging fruit” to pass without comment.
Happy B-day GR
