Or maybe she’s just zoned out on cancer drugs?
My wife said the same thing except called Roslin a Kamala junkie. I giggled.
I don’t know…I really have the feeling that Roslin was almost expecting this ‘showdown’ somehow…I get the feeling she has something big up her sleeve, perhaps gleaned from her talk with Six-in-the-brig. ??
I don’t know what turnip truck I just fell off, but I only discovered the podcast a week ago. I’ve been a BSG fan since the mini-series though.
Anyway, a few comments on podcast #94. There was much talk around the issue of the downtrodden rising up against oppresssors, and the parallels between an uprising among the Cylon(s), and the Cylon uprising against the humans. But one thing no one said is, “All of this has happened before. All of this will happen again.” Is the cycle repeating itself? Is that what Grandpa Goo was talking about? And when did the cycle begin – when was “the start”?
It is all very Animal Farm – steel legs good, skin legs better – and the piggies are living in the master’s house.
I have no theories, except the unlikely one that the cycle began with Bob Dylan, which is why the Tighlons all react to Watchtower.
OK, it’s back to work for me.
I hope so. That would be wild. I wonder if they’re gonna do a ‘Zorro’ or ‘Lone Ranger’ cliffhanger thing. Y’know where at the end of last week they show Zorro fall off a cliff or the Lone Ranger jumps a ravine he obviously can’t make and then when they start the new epsiode they show the lead-in but cut the ending they had last week and insert the new ending beginning. Kara walks thru the Solid Gold dancers mist raises the firearm and BOOM Adama hits her in the back of the head with the remains of the ship model.

LOL!!
Ow. That little angel figure is pointy. That would have to hurt.
Now I love Starbuck (and Roslin), but I’d love to see Laura in her kamala induced stupor just pull out a big gun from the crook of her back and shoot Starbuck unaware. With the line, “I knew one of you Frakers would come for me eventually.” LOL!!
On the serious side of things, I’m really looking forward to seeing how the cylon society crumbles under free will. I hope the centurions start speaking. I loved when the old style cylons spoke in Razor.

Wow, two great shows - BSG and GWC! Thanks for the shout out Chuck!
So, who thinks that the Raider maybe triggered a deeply-buried program in Anders? Chaos just may ensue…
Also, regarding how Starbuck knew where Roslin was sleeping. Remember when Lee asked Adama if Roslin was still staying in his quarters? Could it be that, off camera, Lee helped Starbuck get in there?
And, have you all seen this?

Still chipping away at the 'cast. Agreed: The podcast is on a quality/event level with the episode itself.
The Chuck/Charles bit made me think of Peppermint Patty from Peanuts chatting up Charlie Brown.
I’m bet a quarter Starbuck ain’t gonna do nothin’ (sic) to Roslin, except to say, “Hey, if I were gonna hurt you, I’d do it right here and now. But I’m not. So will you please listen to me? 'Cuz, I’m telling you, WE’RE GOING THE WRONG WAY!”
EmilyFromOhio delivers the goods live. Always a pleasure.
Re: Anders, maybe he simply never locked eye contact with the toasters back on Caprica. But here, something clicked, and something changed. Or maybe he’s simply in love with Scar now. I think I already made this joke in the Frak Party thread, but it bears repeating – regarding the red-eye contact: “Now THAT is what I call a shared momemnt.”
And thanks the Gods the spinny ship looks like it’ll be OK.
I’m thinking this as well.
What got me there was the smoke grenade. It doesn’t cover her approach to Laura, and it’s pretty much the same thing as setting off a flare. Pretty counterproductive if she’s looking to take Laura out and get away. So, either she’s a sucker for a cool entrance or she wants to buy a little time at the expense of alerting everyone that something really odd is going on. That bit of time will be all she needs to deliver the message. After that, it doesn’t really matter.
Regarding the relative artistic abilities of Sean and an elephant I’d say painting-wise they are somewhat similar because both are color blind.
However, when it comes to computer animation I bet Sean has the advantage because elephants would be scared of the mouse.
First of all, I am sorry if this has already been brought up, but it would take me forevuhhhh to go through all the posts to check! This forum is getting really popular!
Anyways, when Starbuck mentioned seeing a gas giant with rings I figured she was talking about Saturn. But when she said she also saw a trinary solar system I started thinking that she was remembering sign posts along the way to Earth, maybe different sign posts like Roslin is following.
Speaking of Roslin, what is her direction? I wasn’t aware of any new signpost found in the nebula. But they are jumping somewhere, so what are they basing their new heading on?
I think it had been mentioned during one of the Frak Parties that the trinary system is likely Alpha Centauri which is the closest extra-solar system to Earth.
I was/am hoping that somehow the “Eye of Jupiter” gets tied in to the Great Red Spot on the planet Jupiter. Who knows, maybe that’s where she ‘popped’ out of when she entered the solar system?
Best. Podcast. Ever.
Thanks so much Chuck, Sean and Audra, as well as everyone who called in! I loved the premiere-so many great moments.
{small voice} I liked Lee’s sweater too.
I noticed something. When Anders talks to Starbuck about being a Cylon, he says this:
“If you were Cylon, then you’ve been one from the beginning”
Notice he doesn’t say 'If you are A Cylon…", which subtly suggests he’s now considering Cylons as a race, not just a type of evil machine.
Somewhere in Texas, a young woman was saying, “ZZZ!”
I like it ! Some type of linkage between the two locations, a portal, causing massive turbulence at either end. Are we getting ready to hear the word ‘wormhole’ enter the BSG lexicon ? Actually, I kind of hope not…holding out for something more ‘out there’, you know?
Oh, and Chuck, for what you had to deal with, amazing audio quality.
Hear, hear! (Literally!)
I guess Chuck would be the one to ask, but is there a recording of the whole hours-long party that was Talkshoe that night ? Or did it end when the ‘official’ podcast ended…it would be a riot to have all the after-babble available to hear as well! Between having watched the show, listening to the live 'cast, and keeping up wih the furiously scrolling thread on the Talkshoe site (and I wish that could’ve been saved too, it was fantastic), I was in serious sensory overload ! What a great time !
While that would be very interesting to a fair group of us, I suspect that Chuck maxxed out on the actual podcast.
