GWC Podcast #206

Nestor’s a fairly common name among Hispanics, at least in south Texas. I’ve known like seven.

Re: Amanda, I think I like her because she reminds me a lot of my mom. Unfortunately, that includes the tendency to assume that the super-special smart kid must be responsible for all the trouble by virtue of being that smart. I don’t think she’s crazy, I think she’s just grieving, and people do some really stupid stuff when they grieve.

Also, the Caprica opening kicks twenty kinds of ass.

So Audra…how YOU doin’??

rachelsnort

Audra there is something different about you, wait don’t tell me… your hair! No? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm… ah the leather pants that’s it! Do they chafe?

I apparently suck at rumor starting.

Sigh.

I told everyone I knew that Zach Braff was going to be the new Spiderman and no one believed me.

Need to make a fake news site link for it to stick. ^^

Firstly another congratulations to Sean on the birth of your child.

Just found your show a couple of weeks ago and It has been a great listen, Started listening from the beginning (got up to episode 72 a 40 hour working week of simple manual labor in which to listen to podcasts helps here) and am wishing I had found this when Battlestar was still coming out great to hear some different viewpoints.

For Caprica still not entirely sure if I like it but am definitely going to wait and see and I guess we can see why the Cylons act like angry adolescents with nuclear weapons then.

Hearing Sean recommend the sword of truth series gave me pause I swear I heard somebody bashing Terry Goodkind before on here and had a similar feeling to chuck on starship troopers that they were killing a book I really liked and found it really painful to get through the first episode and just couldn’t get beyond.

And of course fourteen weeks of Firefly you know you want to, go on go on go on go on go on

Welcome aboard Tavor, and I think you hold the current record for getting completely caught up.

I wanted to listen from podcast 1 but I just douldnt wait to jump in, so mad respect for that.

Welcome!

Legend of the Seeker is a really fun show, you just have to accept that it’s not even trying to stay true to the books.

Spartacus: Blood and Sand totally rules. It’s not as good as, say, True Blood, but it’s superb popcorn TV.

For raunchy Harry Potter, it’s hard to beat Smodcast #90, “Forgeticus!” It’s juvenile, offensive, wrong, and utterly hilarious:

Just referencing that made me giggle

I’ve figured out Porn Potter titles for all the books with the exception of Half-Blood Prince. I’m suffering from gutter-block.

Last night Robot Chicken replayed the Harry Potter Pubertus skit and I thought of GWC. Definitely check that out if you haven’t seen it.

Link!!!1111!

No Youtube link for Pubertus, but I found it on Adult Swim’s site.

Adult Swim Link

Welcome!

I’d just like to add that this series has another, albeit more roundabout, Superman connection: Before Brandon Routh and Bryan Singer were connected to the most recent movie, Brett Ratner was attached to direct.

His choice for Superman? Matt Bomer, AKA Bryce Larkin.

What? I don’t get any credit for “I left Solai for dead”?

So no hotties in leather pants in the books, then? :stuck_out_tongue:

You need a better campaign. Follow Sean’s lead. Make T-Shirts, coffee mugs, etc. Here’s an idea for the T-Shirt: A Klingon holding a pain-stick with Captain Reynolds’ head on it.

I thinking more like a Klingon drinking bloodwine next to a raging fire, with crossed bat’leths hanging on the wall over a very stylish Solai-skin rug. :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m only on the third book, but three of the main characters are Mord Sith
and two of them are lesbians
