This week: We take some air time to round up some of the awesome TV we’ve been watching over the last couple of months including Caprica, Chuck, Big Bang Theory, and Sanctuary. We wrap up the fantasy sci-fi challenge with an awards ceremony. And we take some sweet listener calls. And we run down the week in geek, including new news on the Riddick sequel front, Daft Punk’s who-else-could-possibly-do-this-as-well tap for the Tron Legacy soundtrack, new release dates for Spiderman 4 and Trek 12 (or 2, depending on how you look at it), and a movie release battle you’ll probably never see.
Shiny!!! Well played sir!
Regarding people named Nestor, there’s Nestor Carbonell best known for playing Luis on Suddenly Susan.
Oh, and he also has a minor role on Lost.
Please remember that anyone who won an award for Fantasy Sci-Fi either email or PM me to claim your spiffy award… I finished making them earlier today!
Also, that includes anyone who played as you get an award too!
@15:00 - Towel less or 'talos, both appropriate.
I listened to the latest 'cast was somewhat disheartened to hear the statement that someone who presents as female actually being male is something bad, just because someone doesn’t subscribe to the outdated binary gender assignments that society… actually, nah, it was funny, I just wondered if I could fake outrage for a minute, but I couldn’t, heh… weiners are funny.
The other reason for this is my Potter Porn title, I’d call it in, but we don’t use landlines here any more, and I’m terrified to think what a mobile call from the UK to the US would cost!
My title: “Harry Potter and the Philosophers Bone J.K. Rowling”
How many times can you invole the author in the porn title game?
Winnah!
In order to help Sean out so he doesn’t have to spend days sending individual emails I have volunteered to do some digital distribution of the “Good Game” awards. Here is the large and small versions…you are on the honor system!
Skype is your friend! That’s how we manage international interviews on our measly budget.
(Or hey, just record it, drop it to MP3, and email it to us. All good.)
Hi all, I’ve been listening to the 'cast for well over a year, but I never joined the forum until today. Happy birth(day?) to Michaela!
In your TV Roundup you talked about the Superman joke from this week’s Chuck. “Him? If you’re into the strong, Superman-y type.” You got the first half of the joke, sure: Brandon Routh looks like Superman. But I’m sorry to say you didn’t get all of the joke. What’s the other half, you ask? That’s who he was talking to. Kristin Kreuk is best known for her role as Lana Lang in the show Smallville. I quit watching that show after the first year or two, but it’s safe to say that she’s famously “into” the Superman type of guy.
Maybe this sounds like a “gotcha”, but I don’t want it to have that tone. Honestly it sounded like you didn’t recognize the actress in the first place. So I’ll leave her IMDB link. http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0471036/
maybe someone said this already. But the Uhnch Room is a hack within the holoband world, created by hackers which kids jumped onboard. The holoband’s regular usage is probably monitored, kind of like network TV or games with mods. People probably use them like Trek people use Holodeck, go for a role playing game which feels real or get massages in beaulitful places.
But kids wants Uhnch and boobage. So this time around, without the boobage, I think that point in lost. And I missed the boobage. screw it, doesn’t matter if the room is a hatch within the holoband world, i would like to see more boobage…
by the way, I said this in the frak party, but I am falling in love with the girl who plays Lacy. That girl can act. And she looks very different from how she looked in the pilot… a lot more hot i mean.
yup, i loved that joke because it is joking about both character’s past roles. by the way, it was Chuck and Hannah talking about Sarah and Shaw when Chuck brought up “him? If you’re into the strong, Superman-y type.” Also, Hannah is not only a pun on Anna, but also on Lana… on othersites, people are referring her as Hannah Hang.
I unfortunately cannot accept my Liberty Brush award alone, while I did select the photos, text, and stats it was my main man Uchiha Daisuke that put it all together artistically. You rock dude.
Good game, good game, good game. Mucho congrats to Uchiha, 'Talos, Fastcart, Omra, Headhunter and DP! (and apologies to whomever I forgot)
One of my favorite aspects of Caprica is the butler robot, Serge Graystone. The interaction between him and Eric Stoltz is so great.
Daniel: “What do you say to that, Serge?”
Serge: “And the crowd goes frakkin’ wild.”
I second Shooter’s praise for Burn Notice. I adore the trio of Michael, Sam and Fiona, and I agree that Fiona is highly entertaining in her unbridled enthusiasm for firearms and C4. However, Fi is also bat-sorryBarb crazy but as long as you stay on her good side, you’ll be fine.
I also recommend Leverage and Human Target for being in that action-y MacGyver vein.
and the new season of Supernatural is just awesome. I mean I didn’t used to watch it, because i don’t like supernatural/horror genre. But the writing is just so great on that show, that i’m now following and going back to watch everything.
That show has a bunch of geek reference as well. Even has a couple on the Delorean. There is an episode called “Changing Channels”, it’s just brilliant.
I love Serge! I love his “tweets” as well. (@SergeGraystone). My favorite one was “I Think the dog knows that Zoe is in the robot”.
Where do I put my money for the live version of the NEWS song! I think we should all practice and do a group version.
I can’t believe that the meet-up is in 1 month!
I think Juan will have no problem finding backup singers for the live version.
Thank you for your insight coog86 and ‘welcome’.
First I would like to thank the creator himself…no not him…Father Sean. Props also go to Solai for without him this all would not be possible. I would also like to thank the little people I had to climb over to get to the top. They say it is an honor just to be nominated but who are we kidding, winning is everything. The best part of it all is becoming a member of “Team Sean”. The clubhouse is spectacular, the training facilities are second to none and there is in fact sex in the “Champagne Room”…just ask Liara.
In all seriousness I am sure the spirit of the award is for more then the cards themselves. Badassery goes a long way.
