Regarding Riddick, I am pretty excited about another movie. My feeling about the Riddick movies is this: The character is amazing, the universe is great. Pitch Black is an excellent movie, and so is the Animated Dark Fury. The games are solid. The only piece of it that I think is sub-par was The Chronicles of Riddick. Unfortunately, that was the big movie which they bet everything on.

I’m hoping the new movie will be lower budget and closer to Pitch Black, because that’s where I think the character works best.

My feeling is just the opposite. Pitch Black was entertaining but Riddick is better when hes got something or someone to punch in the face.

I don’t disagree with that. In fairness, its been a while since I saw the movie, but from what I remember of The Chronicles of Riddick, whenever Riddick wasn’t on screen, it just wasn’t that interesting.

My favorite line in a Sci-Fi film evah comes from Riddick: " I might have gone a different way. " It is the awesome, I use it all the time.

Its not a perfect movie by any means but Thandie Newton, Karl Urban and Judy Dench made the non riddick parts a pleasure to watch for me.

I’m kind of glad for that, really. Like when Richard and Kahlan meet up with pacifists and don’t slaughter them horribly like in the books.

Plus the guy who plays Richard is possibly Nathan Fillion Lite, and I can live with that!

I only made it through book 4 of the series and that barely…got a bit preachy feeling for my tastes in fantasy. Have watched a few of the shows from the series and it was alright even not following the books.

I think the pacing of the books is too slow. Once I finish this one, I probably won’t read any more.
