GWC Podcast #145 (Live!)

Get out of my head!

Hey Lady D and Tesseract. Thanks for the welcome.
Jeez! That makes 3 posts for me so far.

Soon, I’ll have a theory.

Hiker;)

Just remembered this 8-months old post

Precient…

Hiker;)

I must say, listening to the podcast as it was happening was a treat. The audio problems had to have been annoying from Chuck’s end since it wasn’t coming from him. Although the fact that it constantly went out when Sean or Chuck were talking & came back when Audra was talking, was HIGHLY entertaining. Audra’s sincere thanking of Ron Moore I felt came from us all & Sean’s “HOLY CRAP!” After you hung up with RDM conveyed what we were all feeling. Kudo’s to all of you.

Hey guys . . . I uh . . . think this reminds me of something I saw before . . . if I remember right there was some kind of sketch or something . . . it was definitely BSG related . . . it was somewhere around here . . . yeah . . . there it is . . .

Before Ron Moore and David Eick had the contract for the new Re-imagined BSG, there was another production being prepared for Sci-Fi Channel. This production was backed by Tom DeSanto and Bryan Singer. In the design sketches for this other production, there was this sketch:

Alarmingly similar if you ask me.

ok, do I get this right: you talked to RDM? he actually called in?

wow.

speechless.

By the way; Chuck, Sean, & Audra . . . great job as always with the 'cast. You guys always do such an excellent job. I listen for more that just the BSG. I listen because you are great even and especially when you digress . . . heck, sometimes I listen because you digress! It can’t be serious and sober Galactica all the time! (By the way, if you guys stopped apologizing for digressing or going off topic, I wouldn’t miss anything at all)

As far as after series 'casts go, I say keep the original name . . . as a tribute to the show . . .

You guys ROCK!

If you guys made a 10 hour podcast, I would still listen . . . and love it.

-Ethan

He called The Big Three. There is a photo of The Great Man on his cell, talking to them, at he Season 4.5 Premier thread. (Let us know, if the condition of his hair causes you as much consternation as it has some of us.)

Actually, his hair was pretty, it was just too dark in the photos to do it justice! lol!

Tho it is now shot with gray…

Couldn’t agree more. I am without speech.

What a validation for the trinity. It is hereby official: you guys do rock.

I want to toss in my congrats on a terrific podcast. I was listening to it live and Chuck’s efforts to fix the problems at the start of the cast make him a Big Damn Hero in my book.
Next, thanks to BKitty and Lady D for the Live at the scene reporting. Getting RDM to talk, honestly, I’m so geeked out, Like Sean was that night, I’m speachless.
And finally Audra’s elequent thanks to RDM and describing what the show and the podcast it formed means to all of us, I don’t think it could have been said better by anyone else.
I’m actually very proud to be a member of this forum and to have such great spokes people as the three of you representing us.
Many Thanks.

sniffs That interview with Kandyse only made me more depressed, because she sounded so resigned to it all. And then reading another interview, about how she missed the wrap party and felt so bad about it…I never liked Dee much, but now I long for her to come back. :frowning:

But (obligatory newbie post?) you guys’ podcast is one of the few pure pieces of brilliance in the podosphere. I’m so glad I have a boring job where I can listen to you guys all day. It took me weeks to catch up on your entire archive, but it was worth it! The humor of BSG fans and fandom is the only thing that keeps this show from totally depressing me on a regular basis, and you are a huge contributor of that. Great work!

Welcome aboard Merry K!
You’ll love it here.

True, it is a dark show. But much fun is to be had together in the dark.

Audra, Chuck, and Sean - awesome podcast. I listened via download, and it sounded great. You handled the RDM chat well. I would not have remembered my name.

Lady D and Bkitty…how exciting to have been exciting to be at the premiere event. To see the actors, wriers, et all. And, to get RDM to chat with the crew…you rock!!

I miss Dee even more after the interview with Kandyse.

It’s been said before, but that was a great, great show. Here’s to hoping you can chat with RDM again!

Welcome aboard Merry K! Always good to meet someone who loves the 'cast enough to go back and listen to all the old ones. You will fit in nicely here.

So much we missed due to the talkshoe crapping out - definitely worth listening to again. Love Bradley Thompson calling it “BattleStar Watercooler” (or BS-Watercooler for those keeping track) - hilarious!

Oh, and I am THE KING of awkward pauses!

  • David “Juan Drew” the Canadian -

I know I don’t post alot but this podcast was truly a treat (not like the others weren’t) but RDM himself…I could feel Chuck, Sean , and Audra’s excitement…
If it were me I would be able to contain myself.
Bkitty and Lady D really truly rock
Cant wait till the comin weeks

The GWC crue was incredible interviewing on the spot.

If that was me it would have went something like a Chris Farley interview:

frakkintalos: Um, hi. Welcome to The frakkintalos Show. I’m… frakkintalos… and, my guest tonight is… one of the… greatest writers… uh, scifi writers. I guess, scifi TV writers, ever. [ Smacks himself ] GOD! That sounds stupid! God, I’m an idiot! I never know how to start these things!

Ronald D Moore: You’re doing great, FT.

frakkintalos: [ hopeful ] Really? No, I’m not. [ hyperventilating ] Anyway… I guess… I didn’t have, have to say, who you were, because… man, I mean… everyone knows who you are. Mmm… you’re Ronald D Moore.

RDM: Well, it’s great to be here.

FT: [ uncomfortable ] You… you… you remember when you wrote the mini-series?

RDM: Yeah, sure.

FT: That was awesome!

RDM: Yeah, it was.

FT: O-kay… Oh! You… you remember when you were doing your podcast… and, uh, they start picking up the garbage, and… you hear the trucks in the background, and everything…?

RDM: Well, to be honest, 'talos, I’d kind of like to forget all of that.

FT: [ smacks himself harder ] IDIOT!! That’s so stupid! What a dumb question!!
