I still get the feeling it’s a “fatal attraction” thing with BYBBQ8…if she can’t have him no body can…
Shatner wrote as well as directed V.
Although I give him credit for trying to tackle the metaphysical stuff,
you can’t blame a lean budget for lines like:
“excuse me…but what does God need with a star ship?”
Yeah, I think thats a reason for a thing like the webisodes.
Apart of me wonders if this is some sort of crazy theory of her own. “Look at the world we’re in,” meaning, look at where we are. We need to decide who is “wrothy” of life and who is not. Cut out the guys, taking up all the air, cut out the prisoners who Gata misses so he can forget about them.
I thought Audra said ‘rump roast’ - I don’t know why, the kids were kind of noisy, today- lol!
But it looks like 2 halves make a whole. Kind of a ‘Hoshi- you complete me… now where are my sharks with frikkin’ lasers?’
I swear, I am drunk on the 'sode-casts! Positively spoiled!
Stoked I got the Best Buy deluxe 4.0 set! w00t!
As usual, I think Kappa’s theory is very probable… let’s wait an hour and see if that’s really the case
Here’s what I see as the central message of the webisodes: Never trust an 8. Ever. As Cavil and crew will soon learn. 'Cuz TurnCoat Sharon Who’s Frakking Cavil is a total double-agent who’s gonna burn their world down.
I think this discussion of how Gaeta always does the right thing is kind of ironic, because since New Caprica he has been willing to do the completely wrong thing on a number of occasions: 1) he stabbed Baltar in the neck and, arguably worse, 2) he perjured himself on the stand during Baltar’s trial. Given that I think the Dude really does have a solid sense of morality, I think he managed to justify those actions (the latter in particular) because he feels he did do a lot to help the resistance and suffered significantly for his anonymity while doing it. Now that it becomes clear to him that he actually may have also done serious damage to the resistance by accepting the help of BYBBQ/Crazy8, I imagine that his psyche is going to be seriously frakked…
I think BBYBBQ8’s logic doesn’t make sense becuase she is crazy. Crazy people are filled with a series of moral compromises and judgements that lead them to be crazy. Some men just want to watch the world burn. Some 8’s just wanna get it on with Gaeta.
After seeing 'sode 9:
Among the many little questions that have come about in this amazing narrative, we finally find out what he said to Gaeta during the interrogation. Thank the gods for this 'sode!
So does this change how we feel about Baltar’s culpability? He was never “blinded by hope” but appears to have been fully in the know about 8’s activities on New Craprica. Or was this just one of many things he was simply powerless to prevent?
Pretty sure Gaeta has finally lost the moniker “butterfingers.”
Baltar was a learning experience.
I can’t believe it’s not butter.
So I watched this Website via Amazon Unbox so I could watch it on the big screen.
At the moment where Racetrack says “Wanna go home?” and Hoshi pauses, looks pained and says “Yeah”, right at that moment I swear I thot I saw a tear roll down Hoshi’s face. So I rewound it over a comple of times, and …nah… what I saw was just a reflection from the helmet glass that looked like a tear.
A nice thot though…
Just want to talk a bit about early Trek.
On the cast, ya’ll talked about “How could anyone stand waiting so long for new Trek content?” between the end of ST:TOS and the 1st Trek Movie.
There’s probably not a whole lot of GWCers who watched ST:TOS as an adult.
But I know there’s good number of you that are approx my age—in other words born in the mid-60s.
So from 1969 (when the TOS series ended) to 1979 (when Star Trek: The Motion Picture debuted), well that WAS my childhood. And for me, as a kid with a vivid imagination and love of science and sci fi, Star Trek DID exist for me that whole time—in Star Trek Novels, in reruns of the show, in games, toys, maps, magazines, the Star Fleet: Technical Manuals, the Enterprise Deck plans, plastic starship models from AMT—everything!! You shouda seen my bedroom as a kid—totally Trek.
Star Trek was alive and well that WHOLE time in minds and hearts of kids like me—and I’m gonna say thousands of others.
I suppose that’s why it’s, ya know, Lived Long and Prospered.:)
Yup, I’m with ThotFullGuy, born in late 60s. Can remember watching reruns as early as preschool. I’m sure I went through six or seven of those AMT model kits of the Enterprise alone–well-placed fire made for an excellent USS Constellation.
Oh yeah. Those AMT models of the Enterprise were so cool. And the neat thing is they came with a set of decals with the names of ALL TWELVE of the Constitution-class Heavy Cruiser starships. So you could, in theory buy twelve of them and name and number then all.
I think I labled mine U.S.S. Constitution…or maybe U.S.S. Republic—or maybe I had both. And, yes, I eventually burned them like any good 13 year old does with plastic models.
Holy CRAP! I thot EXACTLY the same thing. I ran it back to see again and it turned out to just be a reflection.
That is really cool, Thot. It shows what a special show Roddenberry created and why the loyalty of its fans have allowed it to go on for so long and in so many variations. Hooray Trek!!
Trinity: great podcast I love that you can make three minutes of content (well, plus “the call”) into more than an hour of BSG goodness.
I also want to welcome to the forum lls_mutant, Tom, 64kCylon, Rig, narcissus, Mustitos, BleuEletrique, and Deckard! I’m not the best at keeping up with new people here on the forum, but I try! We’re glad you’re here - welcome aboard.
Really! Wow. Thanks for shaing that, cuz I thot was insane seeing “an illusion”. I’m glad to know I wasn’t the only one!
Exactly. And it warms my heart to see younger folks like you keeping it alive and enjoying it. Ahh, to be in your shoes right now and enjoying the Star Trek Movies for the first time.
