And the Solai prequel—hilarious!! --> http://forum.galacticwatercooler.com/showpost.php?p=51196&postcount=28
As for Bear McCreary, he is also handling music for T:SCC and Eureka. BSG may be wrapping up but apparently he is not bored.
If Crazy 8 was so into the G-man, why did she kill everyone on his list that he wanted to save? I guess maybe it’s just because she’s crazy, but that part didn’t make sense to me.
Heh. I like it
The funny thing is though, I’d love to see something like this for real in the show. There’s nothing but truth in what you wrote. They’re both “moral centers”, but every time Gaeta does the right thing he gets dumped on, and every time Helo does he gets rewarded. And given that it has become personal, in that Helo was the one who told Gaeta they weren’t going back in time to save his leg (or him, if it had come to that), and I suspect that Helo and Gaeta are ending up on opposite sides in the next 10 episodes… maybe it will happen.
In terms of Gaeta outing himself as an informant- I still think they should have put the pieces together that Gaeta wasn’t trustworthy. He was asking her to get people out of detention- actively going against the Cylon rule. They knew there was a security leak- that’s why Baltar didn’t go to graduation. Maybe #9 will explain it better. ::Sigh::
Because she is crazy…okay I think thats what their going to explain nextg time…I hope
I cannot tell exactly what it is a tattoo off. Even zooming in and playing with the colors in photoshop does not make it that clear either.
When Audra mentioned Ouroboros I was kind of hoping that tattoo was the tail-devouring snake. At least according to wikipedia the Ouroboros often represents self-reflexivity or cyclicality, especially in the sense of something constantly re-creating itself, the eternal return, and other things perceived as cycles that begin anew as soon as they end.
Nice, brendon
Then I guess it could mean the whole thing about history repeating itself. I mean, somehow earth got destroyed. What if it had to do with cylons vs. hymens? I think a huge message of the show will be what Apolo says, “It has all happened before but it doesn’t have to happen again,”
I think what they need to do is get out of this self made loop. And I hope, and doubt it will be in the time of this series.
Of course, it could just be the actor’s tattoo, and they didn’t bother to cover it up because we’ve seen Gaeta’s other tattoo before, so it fits I can just see the writers now, rubbing their hands together and cackling. “Let’s see what they can read into THIS! buahahhahahahaah…”
Considering how much they packed in to the the past 10 episodes I will bet we will see a lot of ground covered in a short amount of time (especially considering the final is extended and there is the Cylon Centric movie entitled “The Plan”).
I must agree with Sean…Crazy 8 is EVIL…yet impossibly hot
Yeah, that’s entirely likely as well. sigh
Why would she had kill him in new Cap since he was a valuable source of information. I’m not sure she really loved him or maybe he’s alive because she feels a little bad about what happened (but the girl is bonkers (like the Englishmen would say))
But the other side of what happened to them that wasn’t really discussed. The cylon(ZZZZZ) and the human(ZZZZZ) have an uneasy truce, just based on what happened on the ship everything could go to hell right now.
Just think of the six that killed the girl that drowned her in a cesspool (hey I think I would have done the same thing, there is killing but that was just plain mean) and was executed by another six. It’s a really fragile alliance and crazy BBQ8 could jeopardize this easily.
I wonder how will he dispose of crazy BBQ8 and manage to explain things so that the truce doesn’t stop too.
Like in the movie about the cold war when they send a pilot fly over Cuba and they say to him : “If you get shot down, call it a mechanical error and crash in a mountain, If you get shot tell its birds that did that to your plane.”
They told him that because they knew the minute a plane was attacked the war would start.
It’s not the exact thing in the movie but close enough.
So does the 'sode make…
A. Baltar more like Gaeta
or
B. Gaeta more like Baltar
in the eyes of the fans?
When Star Trek V was released, like Chuck, I was very excited. Besides being directed by my childhood and (let’s face it) adulthood idol. It took place during a very promising time for Star Trek fans. IV was very successful and TNG was starting to get really good. Trek was beginning to really flex its muscles.
As always, GWC hit the nail on the head. The problems with story, production, and cast would have been overwhelming for anyone, let alone a first time director. The Shat was out of his league and his previous appearance on SNL (Get a LIFE!!) was still fresh on everyone’s mind. So Bill got bashed. I’m not making any excuses for the man. I love him but then again I’ve never worked with him or for him. Some felt he deserved it.
Bill himself said regarding V, “It’s incomplete because of lack of money and lack of political knowledge on my part. I made a fatal compromise on my story when I accepted the suggestion by the studio that instead of it being God and the Devil, it was an alien pretending to be God and the Devil; and in an effort to retain what I thought was a good story, I made that compromise, [and] started the fatal flaw in the movie.” He continues, “I was inexperienced in adjudicating how much money to spend on the various elements of the film so when it came to the final moments, I didn’t have enough money to give it the proper production.”
Not having listened to the 'cast yet, here’s my theory on how BYBBQ8 could say 1) she chose Felix over her own kind and model and 2) she made the list into a death list: she knew the Cylons suspected Felix was passing info to the Resistance, so she gave the Cylons the list Felix thought was going to be used to save people as a death list to ensure that the other Cylons thought Felix was collaborating with the Cylons. In fact, then, Felix was made an unwitting collaborator by trying to help, and BYBBQ8 was really killing people to try to protect Felix, as sick and misguided as she was.
Wow, I was incredibly excited about Star Trek V as it was coming out–probably more so than any other Trek movie.
I totally agree with you that the Shat was out of his league directing the movie. For whatever reason, Leanard Nimoy had a better knack for it.
There were a lot of things that got mis-managed for sure. But also some bad timing. For example, EVERY big sci fi movie back then ALWAYS used Industrial Light and Magic for its special effects. Unfortunately, at the same time Star Trek V was filming, Raiders of the Lost Ark: The Last Crusade was filming an Ind. L & M was tied up with that movie, instead of Trek. So Shat had to go with another special effects group, and it shows.
From what you’re saying about Shat and the Studios and compromising on the story, Frak, I’m thinking the Studio did him a big favor. If the Shat got his way and went with a real God and real Devil plot line—yikes–that would have been a disaster from which he, me and the world wouldn’t have had a hard time recovering from.
All that said, there’s moments in ST:V that are awesome! And even if it’s a not a great movie, I’d have to say I got enjoyment out of it…and I watched it more than once. There was some good action, some drama—some great Kirk,Spock, McCoy moments—and little chese–but not so bad.
So there.
Okay, now THAT fits. If that’s not the logic they use, it should be
It looks like two old fashion magnets repelling each other. The sake is all in one piece.
Listening to this cast, it struck me how stupid we men have been throughout this entire series! Every time a gorgeous babe smiles at us, BAM, we instantly do their bidding. Baltar, Chief, Adama (both of em), Helo, even Gaeta now! Parade a decent-looking babe in front of them and poof civilization gets shot all to hell. Again and again!
I’m pretty sure there was a hot model involved somewhere in whatever occurred to the stinking mess they’re calling Erf, too!
Damn hormones.
I hadn’t thought about it that way, I really like your theory
