GWC Podcast #129

Well, I can say this: Wolverine is a very moral individual in Wolverine #1-#11. Can’t speak to everything else yet, but I read these this evening, and he’s, well, pretty on the ball morally-speaking. (And we’re speaking morally, here.</dwarf>)

Did anyone read the X-Men/Wild C.A.T.S crossover, the issue with Wolverine and Zealot was pretty awesome, especially the art with Travis Charest!

Eh, I’m gonna still have to agree with Sean on the amorality thing. I mean. The key difference between being amoral and immoral in my mind is that immoral individuals know what they’re doing is wrong and may feel guilt over it. An amoral person doesn’t care if it’s wrong as long as it’s right for them. That’s Wolverine imo.

BTW Cackleberry, if you haven’t already done so, I suggest you check this out…

For catching up on series and characters, Wikipedia is a goldmine.

I was just in a bookstore. Man, there are a lot of comics. Like five-seven X-Men titles. On the racks this month are selections including X-Men Origins: Jean Gray and Wolverine: Power Pack.

While you’re there, take a look at the one-shot Punisher Kills the Marvel Universe.

Wow. I had forgotten how totally frakkin’ awesome that was.
I need to collect myself for a moment.:o

Bwaaaaahahaaa! FT, you kill me!

Maybe that’s significant in that he refuses to play Xavier’s game? Not to play by the rules of others? What a thinker, and I haven’t re-watched yet!

Did Sean say that Magnetos helmet was adamantium? I can’t find anything either proving or disproving this assertion?

Also, it was Mystique that took Rogue under her wing in the comics, not the White Queen.

I don’t remember Asteroid M ever being referred to as ‘New Haven’

Sorry for all the small posts, but I’m going back and re-listening to the cast to catch some of the errors, and I wanted to re-point something out.

Sean says that Xavier wipes Magnetos mind and makes him teach retarded kids because he didn’t agree with him. Dude, Magneto ripped the adamantium out of Wolverines body, I think that was a reasonable response, he didn’t kill Magneto, he just tried to make him less evil.

I know this is part of X3, but since it was discussed on this podcast I think it’s fair game.

I was just watching X3 and listening to the commentary, and the director/writers talk about the idea of Xavier using the body of the coma victim, and how there was a deleted sequence where the name of the person was revealed to be the comatose twin brother of Xavier that didn’t quite survive the birthing process due to Prof. X’s mutant abilities in the womb. Interesting eh?

Neither can I, but since Adamantium seems to be a ferrous metal (e.g., Magneto ripping out Wolvie’s skeleton) it would make sense.

In the comics, it was referred to as “Yale.”

Thanks for the plug, gaf.

That vid never stops being awesome, and neither do YOU!

MUAH!

Yep, right story wrong transgressor but I knew I’d get smacked around for all the stuff I got incorrect in the cast when I said it - so it comes as no surprise you guys are smarter than I am.

I have a habit of letting my mouth go faster than my brain when I’m stoked. So I combined Jubilee’s conflicts with Emma Frost which is what I was thinking about next and Rogue… and you see what comes out.

I suppose I should have looked up and researched all the stuff I wanted to say and gotten the names right and made notes before hand - but (shrug) anyone who knows me knows that ain’t my style.

Grip it and rip it is more my speed.

Misquoted that one, good catch. Meant to say it was to be a new haven for mutants, but Audra’s Connecticut gag was better and I just went with it after that.

I’m standing by that one homie, I think Prof. X looses the moral high ground there. He tried to make him ‘less evil’ the same way the government tried to make better people in Firefly which led to Reavers. I’d have been better with him killing Magneto - removing all the things that make him who he is isn’t cool.

IMHO killing him would have been better.

Kinda like your gaming philosophy of gun and run?

Very much so
