Thats a very good point, but I don’t think that would fit Xaviers M.O. He’s not the type to actually kill something, rather changing for what he deems better, even if the act of changing it is a psychological violence.

I think I have a real hard time agreeing that Xavier is a jerk, but all of your points are valid, and I will work on a rebuttal.

This was definetly my favorite podcast to date. Thanks Sean for representing the comic geeks of the world, and although there were some mistakes, you are totally awesome. It really made me go back through my mental archives of my comics, I’m now going to re-watch the animated series.

Glimfeather, you’re welcome, something that awesome deserves to be shared!

I just got to the StevieSpin call part of the 'cast. Before X-Men, Romita Jr. also did some really beautiful work on Amazing Spider-Man, too. I forget who inked it, but it was some really amazing, shimmering coloring. And in retrospect, it’s that much more impressive, considering the newsprint they worked with. Is Romita still in the game? Was he cool when he signed your copy?

I loved that Wolverine Mini series you have as your avatar! I always thought he looked like Jack Nicholson in those - almost like the artist based it on him. Re John Romita Jr - he was younger than I expected, maybe 50’s and sadly, a total douche. I generally leave that part of of the story cause it tarnishes the event, but he made a tacky gay joke and hardly made eye contact or spoke/listened to the people he was signing for. So that sucked but overall I was still really happy.

Hehe, Yorrick and I had some catching up to do and the call got lost in the shuffle, but we see each other from time to time and will make a point of it next night out  … right Tony?

StevieSpin

Bummer. When I asked, I was hoping to hear that he was not a douche.

I was looking for a couple of the covers I had in mind, couldn’t find the specific ones, but the general range of issues is early-to-mid 200’s of Amazing Spider-Man. I guess he also did some Dazzler as well. So points are hereby deducted from the artist and reassigned to the art.

I got a qusetion for you sean. I watched the animated show for a while and I’m wondering if it ever followed theplot of any of the comic’s? I never read any so I was wondering…

I think, though I could be wrong about this, that Xavier erasing Magneto’s mind after Wolverine’s adamantium was ripped from his body and Xavier mind sweeping Magneto’s mind and forcing him to work with kids are actually two separate incidents, more so, two separate universes. Xavier did erase Magneto’s mind, but left him a vegetable and under the care of Colossus which then later precipitated the spawn of Onslaught. The other incident, and this is the part I’m unclear on, happened in the Ultimate universe and apparently will end up leading to that universe’s destruction. So all’s well.

Back to the issue of Wolverine’s morality for a second: Logan never does anything really morally questionable other than killing. And whom he kills is almost always some thing of a necessity. It’s almost never for selfish reasons. He’s actually remarkably clear of gray area in this regard. Wolverine, pre-fall of Xavier and M-day, the staunchest supporter of Xavier’s dream, even more so than Scott, because Wolverine was essentially fighting for obsolescence. Which, as it turns out, is probably because Xavier programmed him to be that way. Funny that.

Kinda sorta not really, same with the 90’s Spiderman animated

I loved the meow song! Somewhere, way back early, Audra sang the BSG song in meows…

Please post that part as an MP3!!!

That was an awesome podcast. Audra’s feline beatbox outro was insane ! I want that as a ringtone !

I was wondering if Wolverine, way back in the day, ever went through a “Groundhog Day” phase. After discovering he was pretty much immortal, did he ever lose it and try to repeatedly kill himself to end his angst/boredom ? I could see it happening in his past. The guy’s got some issues, for sure.

After listening to the 1st X-men podcast and reading the posts, I’m simply blown away. I only knew the X-men through the movies, which I thoroughly liked, but I haven’t read any of the Comix.

Wow, you guys are amazing, there’s so much there, it’s really fascinating. I’m looking forward to the next podcast.

Omg that is OSSIM! I so want to have that power now, lol! I’d do a press conference as G.W. Bush and in the middle pull my head off to reveal the head of Richard Nixon.

Great article! Thanks for the link!

Aww, cool! I’m so glad you’re here because it wouldn’t be the same without our Thot!

Man, that video still gives me goosebumps. Glimfeather, what you made is so special to all of us!

Lol, glad you guys liked the meow hop. i was a little worried at first that people thought it was just weird.

Did I meow the BSG song? I don’t remember… Chuck will know, I bet!

It was waaaaaay back. When we first see the cat and people are joking that he is the final Cylon.

Indeed. By the way, when StevieSpin says “the call got lost in the shuffle” please read instead: “the call got lost after a few too many drinks”
