From last year.
Time for another heads up to newcomers to this season’s fantasy league. Now, with the first week officially over, we have the choice/chance of adjusting our line ups with waivers. Some of you may have already discovered this. Waivers work by selecting players we want and exchanging players we want to drop. You’d want to do it simultaneously instead of dropping players first and hoping your waiver comes through to prevent having gaps in your lineup.
The site has an order to go through which favors owners with lower standings. This week standings seems a bit off since it’s our first. However, usually owners with higher standings have the worse chances of getting the best players because the lower standings owners get their picks first.
Then on early Thursday AM US time, the site goes through and adjusts our rosters. If a player was dropped by another owner, we’ll be able to pick that player up using the same process. The site goes through the process again early Sunday AM US time.
It is worth noting that after Thursday, the lock on Free Agents/Available Players is released and we can manually add/drop players at will unless a player was recently dropped. So, you can choose to ignore waivers, but you may miss out on that week’s or season’s top players.
Finally, try to get your waiver picks in by Thursday 12:01 AM ET/Wednesday 9 PM PT. The waiver process occurs later in the AM, but this deadline will guard against potential site lockouts or other mishaps/forgetfulness on our end.
If anyone have questions, disagree with, or find any or all of my explanations unclear, please speak up. I’m typing this info based off my experiences from last season, and I may not be apprised of changes or forgotten important info.
Would someone else care to explain trades?
Good luck to us all. ^^
