Fringe

Yeah, I am with you on kick-ass Olivia. I was like, “Hot! Use that Nordic athleticism! W00t!”

The g/f and I are still watching. Like I said before, the bickering Bishops (shut up, boys ) make it worth it.

I’m stil watching!

And I totally agree, the Bishop boys are wonderful!

I’m totally loving the show. I think the show’s pretty tight so far, it’s sticking pretty close to the plot line, it doesn’t have much fat. So much so, I think it could afford to loosen up a little. I am completely into it so far.

And yeah, Olivia is totally hot, Bishop boys are hilarious, the lietenant from The Wire is cast into a fitting role. Beside, the show mades me all nostalgic of my Boston days.

I want to see more of Astrid, the completely adorable and totally hot, kinda half-black looking FBI agent lady, who’s been unfortunately relegated into a secretarial, lab-assistant kind of a role. I want to see her kick some ass.

Astrid does need a bit more meat to her character. IYKWIM
So, we need a distraction, you grab Astrid and I’ll grab Peter!

I’m still watching also. I’m very intrigued with the bald freaky guy.

I’m a bit perturbed by the way they are handling Astrid. She seems like an after thought. And Peter is just standing around translating his father’s ramblings. Don’t even get me started on Charlie. I’d rather Astrid have that role and just have Peter be the lab assistant.

The plots are compelling just the same but they really need to work on developing the “lesser” characters. I hope Astrid doesn’t continue to suffer from Harry Kim’s disease.

Another double date? Charlie and Danni will be so disappointed.

Yeah, the writing of the show is show tight and lean so far, it’s really weird that Astrid is just dangling around like an useless appendage. I hope some compelling backstory and kick-ass sideplot is store for her soon.

They’ll just have to understand that they have to share us. We can’t tie ourselves down to just one pair, can we?

Well, Dani’s relationship with the captain has put a serious damper on our sex life. She doesn’t seem to be paying any attention to me any more. I may have to move on.

Ooh, I know! And how can you even look at her the same way knowing she’s boinking that greaseball? Yech! 'Course, you know Charlie and I had a HUGE fight over him frakking his ex-wife… This is exactly why we need to supplement with Astrid and Peter!

I stopped watching, I just couldn’t get into it. Now that 24, LOST and BSG are back, I’m pretty busy. Maybe I’ll look again when the DVDs come out.

Hold the phone! If Charlie’s free, I’ll take him. I could use a little Zen right now, iykwim.

Heh- Well I’m willing to share, but we still gotta deal with the ex-wife, that skinny blonde b…

Never watched either of them so I make time for Fringe. Given up on House as well.

NO not house. it’s still good, he’s just taking a break from being an ***“Sorry Barb”.

Anyone else see this weeks ep yet? Pretty good, eh? Although why does Chris Bauer always play characters you love to hate? (Fred Yokas on Third Watch, Andy Bellefluer on True Blood, the murdering computer genius on this ep of Fringe)

I found the end intriguing from a character development standpoint. Anyone else think poor Rachel- Olivia’s sister, of course, not me :D- is getting in over her head falling for Peter? Anyone else think if Rachel hadn’t been there Peter would have said more? I think I might have to find a way to console Peter…

Looks like ya’ll got your wish this week with “The No-Brainer”. That title’s like one of DBT’s bad puppy puns. She didn’t kick any sorryBarb, but more lines and interactions for Astrid may begin a whole new pattern. Although, I would prefer that they didn’t use her as the Bishop snitch.

This was a really good ep and there was absolutely no pattern hinkyness whatsoever. Anna Torv is opening Olivia up more every week and She’s become much more fun to watch. Those Dunham girls sure do like Peter…

Walter’s menu item of the week: None. Can you blame him?

Where the Observer was observed: I didn’t see him, but since this ep was pattern-free, he wouldn’t be around anyway.

Gross-out moment: Brains on the face. Brains in the beaker. 2 places where brains don’t belong.

She’s gotta go! Plus, Charlie’s gonna need a lot of TLC next week.

I know! When I read the episode title, I knew this one was going to be messy and gross.

I got way more where they came from. A whole litter of them.

This was exactly what I was hoping for… obviously they can’t make Astrid into a main character over night, nor do I want her to be. I rather like the tightness of the story arc, without way too much side arcs to distract from the “pattern”. But I just want to see a little more of Astrid… I just don’t her being relegated to someone in the background with a few lines per episode. THis was a good balance.

Olivia Dunham was walking that fine line between a conflicted and persecuted protagonist and a distant and unrelatably hardened stereotype. I think this week’s episode softened her up just enough, without turning her into a wuss. It was just right.

The Fringe comics are apparently about this very thing. They cover Walter’s back story and how he went from brilliant experimental scientist to the insane asylum.

This is why I am still watching. The production values aren’t great and there are no characters who really turn me on, but the plots are imaginative and fun and the dialogue is worth listening to.

I am with everyone on Astrid. I missed this week’s ep so I’m looking forward to her getting more lines.

Didn’t know about these. Are they currently available?

Edit OK, only one has been released. Will take a look at it soon.
