Eve Online

Well, I’ll have a long skill queue because I’ll be traveling for work. Hope they’ll have anything huge patched before I get back :stuck_out_tongue:

I knew advanced weapon upgrades 5 was good for something. I’m looking forward to the revamped insurance system, I’m getting tired of going broke replacing dictors.

Thanks for the tip fastcart…on the skill training if there is downtime.

Tyrannis Release Delayed

Esteemed capsuleers,

We regret to inform you that deployment of our upcoming expansion Tyrannis has been pushed back by one week to May 26th, and that market seeding of Planetary Command Centers is pushed back to June 8th.

So readjust those skill plans!

Dang, I think AWU 5 finishes during that next week. Looks like battleship 5 or something.

Patch notes are available for review and a discussion thread is available here."

Get whatever you need done/prepared by 10pm EDT tonight.

I just bought some leadership skill books for if we ever do fleet night.

Of course, my next two weeks are pretty busy, which means it’ll probably happen then.

I also bought a command center to try out planetary interaction. Doubt I’ll break even on it, but since I’m based in a single system, might as well give it a shot.

Anyone having withdrawals. I’ve been tinkering with EVEMon to get my fix. d:

I hope ppl took my advice and set a long queue.

Edit: Oh snap. They just announced servers won’t be back until midday UTC (8.5 hrs).

The GWC channel got closed for some reason, so I recreated it. Just want to give you guys a heads up on that in case you get a message saying it was closed when you log in.

Huh. Weird. Thanks.

Just made my first big LP store purchase. Not sure what I’m going to use it for yet, but I took it out for a quick unfitted test flight.

Good day of exploration today, even though I only did anomolies. One of them only had frigs, but it coughed up a faction rat. One volley of heavy missiles later, and I had a Low Grade Crystal Omega implant worth around 220 mil in Jita  (oh, and a Dread Guristas Smartbomb). Taking it there in my battleship now, just so no one on the way gets any bright ideas

I recently reactivated 2 of my 4 accounts after a few years off. Please include me in any future frig fleet ops, I’d love to tag along.

Main: Crossmen X
Alt: Inara Frye

I just signed up so don’t mind the noob comments.

Main: Frank Dracman
Alt: to soon to start one.

In EVE, everyone is a noob… anyone who says otherwise is lacking the intelligence required to play.

I had played the game actively for 3 years before I took my break, and I fully admit to my EVE skill being at rank 3. There’s just too much to learn and they’re adding more complexity all the time. I can’t wait for Incarna (walking in stations) to be released. It’ll add a lot of much needed realism to the game, and knowing CCP, they won’t release that without some very interesting things to do within station.

Incarna should be the winter release. And, there will be minigames to play in stations. Dunno what else.

Great, in addition to my other computer problems, now EVE is freezing up when I try starting it and I’m 10 hours from being out of skill queue. I was going to put a long skill (Cybernetics V) on so that it would last long enough for me to fix the problem, but it seems like I can’t even do that :frowning:

EDIT: Just checked my crappy old laptop to see if I could install EVE on it just to update the skill queue, and unsurprisingly, it didn’t meet the minimum requirements. I’ll probably try a few more things to deal with the problems tomorrow, but that means I’ll lose at least half a day of training time :frowning:

Three suggestions (four actually):

  1. Delete the cache directory under AppData/Local/CCP/EVE/[foobar] then restart the client. See whether it hangs.

  2. Copy your EVE settings to another directory (should be under (AppData/Local/CCP/EVE or some such), then delete the directory. Start the client and let it make new settings. If the client seems stable after doing this, log in and set your queue. Then, quit EVE, copy your settings back, restart EVE, and see whether it freezes again.

  3. Download the full client, uninstall EVE, then install it again using the download you just got. I never trusted the patcher personally (especially not after the boot.ini fiasco).

  4. EVE has a repair tool that I’ve never tried.

Good luck.

P.S. You still have just one account?

Yeah, just the one account. I’m guessing that it’s related to the hardware problems I’m having, but I’ll give that a shot.

Oh, then I dunno.

You could try the laptop anyway. Use the Performance preset (or manually de-select the bells and whistles), disable EVE audio, and give it a try.
