Eve Online

Hello, just recently found GWC but been playing EVE for quite some time about four years this time with a brief month or two try a year or two before. Character of the same name nearly all of my time in Masuat’aa Matari of Ushra’khan so yes them roleplay types :), lots of ups and downs and side to side in the rollercoster ride that is EVE.

Joined the ingame chat and look forward to meeting some of you.

Well, I recently decided that I was going to focus on exploration. That led to some good news and bad news today.

Good news: I got a module I was able to sell for 6.5 mil isk from a rat during an expedition.

Bad news: The last part of the expedition sent me into low-sec with a combat ship for the first time, where I got my Drake blown up in 30 seconds.

At least the module paid for the replacement stuff for my new ship. Heck, with the other loot and bounties I got, I’m actually ahead for the day

To further its “Spreadsheets in Space” stereotype, CCP released The Fourth Quarter, Economic Newsletter for 2009.

Interesting read with stats and info.

EVE drives me nuts…I have always WANTED to love the game. Hell I do the concept is exactly what I say I want in an online space game.

The problem is I can never stay longer then a week when I play it.

Yeah, one of EVE biggest disadvantage is its not great for casual players. Fleet engagement can take hours. Mining can take hours to make a lot of isks. Traveling can take a while. Etc.

But, one of the biggest advantage is you can still train skills while you’re away… If you can justify the monthly expenditure for playing so little.

I think the longest I ever played a full month when I first started playing it.

And i have reactivated my account heh

Nice, I’ve been back in full for 2 months now. Say hello in the GWC channel.

I will once a character finishes deleating, had too much beer to do things and screwed up some stuff. Long story, just waiting for that character to be gone so I can make another…yes all my slots are filled with guys I have no clue with what I was doing with them.

Hey everyone. I found the podcast because of the Eve episode last year and have been listening ever since. I finally checked out the forum today. I hope to chat with some of you guys in the GWC channel.

I think we’re about due for another GWC frig fleet night. Any thoughts on when?

Ooooh! I’ll start pinging everyone and see what we can get assembled.

What’s involved? Or, link to the post explaining? I’m back fully into the game.

Fleet night eh? Let me know.

I might be interested too, but I have no experience with PVP, so I might need some help figuring out a fit and stuff.

If anyone needs cheap frigs, I have blueprints for the following ships…

Gallente: Tristan
Caldari: Kestrel
Amarr: Punisher
Minmatar: Rifter

You’re on your own for having the skills to fly them, and fitting them. They typically take less than an hour to construct.

I may take you up on that for a Kestrel. Depends on when we do the event. I’m starting to figure out a fit, but I have no PVP experience, so no idea if it’ll be any good.

Rifters are the ultimate cheap pvp frig. If you guys need fitting advice let me know.

Just remember: We generally lose all the ships before the night is out, so don’t bring anything you’re going to mind losing. And make sure your clone is up to date – and hopefully located somewhere convenient.

If/when we do find a fight, some may make it out while others don’t. If you’re one of the ones who doesn’t and think it might be fun to re-join the fleet, you’ll want to keep your clone nearby and stash one or more additional frigs somewhere nearby as well – preferably wherever you put your clone.

More when we get closer to the actual date, etc.
