Now, that doesn’t include a few other pieces that you can add to put it over the top…

Also, please, if you do get the helmet, make sure you remove the “GIRO” from the front and the “Bad Lieutenant” from the back. :slight_smile: Goof Off works great on the GIRO, the Bad Lieutenant took a bit more scrubbing.

Second also, there are MANY variants that people are coming up with that are sorta spun off the basic marine. Force recon, SAR, the Razor boarding team are just a few examples. You might be able to find a cheaper (and cooler for Atlanta in August) costume from those. I’m also sorta doing a Razor semi off-duty marine getup as well, you know, for partying hearty at night.

If you are on a really limited budget, you could always do a cardboard cylon. :stuck_out_tongue:

$550 :eek:Hmm, I already have nice boots, so I should be good. actually I’m quite wealthy for my age(smart investments+predicting the sub-prime mortgage crisis) but I’m incredibly cheap. I’ll check some DVD’s and see what I can do to lessen the cost

Hoping to go with the family - bil lives in Atlanta area so hoping to combine a visit with Dragon Con. Even my non-BSG watching husband (feel my pain) is interested. I don’t let my kids watch BSG but they are total Star Wars freaks so they really want to go.

You know we should probably start a list of the GWC’ers going so we can organize some sort of meet-up.

So cut and paste and add your name to the list:

Once we get closer (and all the traks have annouced their schedules - which I combine in an excel spreadsheet, since the one D*C releases is hard to read) we can plan to meet somewhere.

Please also let us know if you have been before or not.

Any questions y’all might have post away - either I will know the answer, or know others who have been more often who can maybe answer.

I know it took me forever, but I finally sold my parents on the idea of letting me go. Now I have to figure if my portfolio can afford it, and if one of my friends will go/ take me in for a place to stay.

And Jamie Bamber is questionable at this point - he is possible going to be filming in the UK, but I know he will do what he can to be there if it is at all possible.

Plus he is going to be staring in Law and Order: London - which is why is going to be in the UK.

Well last we heard it is being filmed for iTV in the UK, with possible distribution on one of the cable networks of NBC (at least we are hoping that is the case). It will be based on some of the scripts from the US incarnations but rewritten to make them more British.

I am really excited not only because Jamie is in it (duh, I am a bunny after all), but some of the production team is from Torchwood, another of my favorites.

Alright…just about got all my costumes together (BSG Marine, SG-13 member, Buy More employee). Any new people that we’ve picked up or didn’t know about this thread? (hoping people will see it on “New Posts”)

Bummed that Adam Baldwin canceled again. Glad (well, not glad, but takes off the sting a little) I didn’t finish my Jayne costume since that would mean 3/4ths of my costumes would be of his characters (SG and Buy More), and he isn’t even going to be there :frowning:

OK, so I have finally have the schedule together based on the various tracks. I find it easier to read then the one D*C puts out.

Anyone who might want a copy PM your e-mail address (it is an excel spreadsheet) and I will send it along.

We should also start thinking about when we might want to set a time to meet-up and exchange numbers and things.

We are going to be cruising into town on Thursday afternoon and will be trying to get our passes then.

Friday is looking good as far as maybe getting together or something. It makes sense as well that way we can all meet up before the whole shebang kicks into high gear. Would meeting somewhere in the food court thing to the south be the best place to hook up for lunch maybe?
