Dollhouse

I don’t mind Dushku as much, I just think when she is focused they tend to fall into the mission of the week format. I liked her scenes in this episode. the way she lied to Boyd was great.

though I do miss November and whiskey a lot. they need to bring them back…

Just saw this week’s episode. Broke my heart and built it back up a little right there at the end. Why do I always love the shows that make me cry?!

Yes, toss me into the lot that agrees this was the best episode to date. We get backstory and the stakes for the administrative characters are raised. We see how far Topher, DeWitt and Boyd will go to protect an active. Especially for Topher, we see just how complicit he is on more than just one level.

I have a feeling November & Whiskey will figure heavily in the next episodes.

As I said in the Frak Party thread… last week’s episode (for posterity: the Sierra / Priya episode) was awesome. Best yet, and perhaps the most Whedon-y of them all.
(though the tears, of course)

Looks like I picked the wrong week to bail out on this show. :frowning:

True. It’s an Epitaph 1 level of stepping up their game. Everyone is touched. It’s why you watch Whedon shows.

any episode with less Eliza is great. It should be the all Sierra, Helo, and Topher show!

i like Boyd…

I agree. this ep was Fantastic in a series that has been OK to Good.

yeah, I like Boyd and Dewit as well… I guess I just don’t like Eliza

And that’s the major problem Dollhouse has: an uncharismatic star with a limited range as the lead. It’s a bit of a problem when your show improves whenever your lead actress (and co-executive producer!) is not on screen. It’s so (aesthetically) frustrating!

It’s sad, because I loved Faith. I just don’t find Echo that interesting. I think Eliza is great in a supporting or ensemble role, but she just doesn’t seem to have whatever it is that pulls a lead role.

Enver Gjokaj, the guy that plays Victor, is my favorite actor on the show. He’s very chameleon-like and I think is the best “doll” on the show, given the range he’s shown so far. When he played Dominic in Victor’s body, it gave me chills. Once this show has the inevitable cancellation, I hope he gets picked up for something else good (and with a longer shelf-life.)

I just heard the Dollhouse theme song with lyrics for the first time and had my mind blown away…

Jonatha Brooke - What You Don’t Know

The first verse goings:

What you don’t know wont hurt you.
Maybe their lies are true.
Try and remember, try to forget those yesterdays beatings too.

second time it goes:

You’ll never see me coming.
You’ll never know my name.
Try to remember try to forget but you’ll never be the same.

knowing what Dollhouse is about, the song is pretty powerful…

maybe i am alone in this, but since it’s been on hietus the longest, i miss Dollhouse…

can’t wait till it comes back. Can’t wait for the Summer Glau episode. Canceled our not, it was fun watching. I mean I rather watch Dollhouse than SGU… and I’ve watched every episode of SGU…

I’m glad the final episodes will get to air and we’ll have some closure for the series. I agree, it is more enjoyable than SGU. Am hoping SGU will step up soon.

Dollhouse never felt like a chore to watch… SGU does =_=

The past 3 episodes of Dollhouse are all brilliant, which makes FOX show runners look pretty moronic.

Fell asleep watching the second ep. Not cuz it was bad, just tired.

But so, I gotta say: As soon as they cancelled Sarah Chronoricles, I hoped that they’d use Summer Glau in Dollhouse.

Now that she’s there, I wish she weren’t. She’s creeping me out. Bad, bad!

Good work on her part, though.

I’m kinda scared to finish the ep.

yeah she was creepy for the torturing, but she can be creepy at times in TSCC too. Bennett and Topher crush is so cute tho, even if it ended with him punching her in the face.

Wow, I’m loving a) having Dollhouse back and b) what’s going on. This is what the show should have been about all along… though after Belonging, I wish we had seen some Sierra in these episdodes. Topher having imprinted Victor with… himself… however, nearly made up for that absence  f-ing hilarious

come to think of it, this is the first time Summer plays a scifi role but not kicking SB doing it.

It would have been funny if Topher wanted to knock the one armed librarian geek girl out but ended up having his SB handed to him… too bad they didn’t go that way. I am sure the real Summer Glau can knock out Topher with her pinky.
