Jen doesn’t feel chosen. She can’t even see Beta.

Rollie:
yes, a couple times.

Jen:
What did it look like to you?

Rollie:
It looked like what it looks like.

Hey, I’m here for you.

Jen:
No, you’re not. You’re 38 million km away.

Ouch, poor Rollie.

Ok, not surprising, Paula is losing it.

She runs to her quarters to check her bible about what this new revelation could really mean.

Wass, the theorical physicist is the only crew member who is keeping his emotional equilibrium. He is excited about the new frontiers in physics this opens up. He’s happy and at peace.

Jen returns to the tomatoes in the lab…

Zoe and Donner back in front of Beta.
Zoe: “What do you think it wants from us?”
Donner: “No idea.”
Zoe: “There has to be some sort of plan here.”

The entire crew has lost it’s calm, except Wass.

"It’s fractal. Fractal object. Fractal tomato. Fractal music.
This could be the language of the universe.

Paula doesn’t believe Beta is an alien life form.

She thinks its a sign of the coming of the rapture. The end days.

Wass is less than respectful about this.

You gotta love Ajay’s optimism and idealism.

Eve’s story continues.

Eve deteriorates after Beta was taken away.

Minisk asks a very insightful question.
Are all the different hallucinations rooted in feelings of personal guilt?
The answer is yes.

Eve was a violin virtuoso.
A song she made up at the age of 4 is the same music Eve heard from Beta.

Eve’s story:

When the Beta starts to die, the custodians of the object find Eve and brings her to Beta. That was 13 yrs earlier.

The Press is looking for someone to leak the real story about the mission.

Jen can’t take the chaos of the unknown. She gives the tomatoes a severe trimming.

Nadia is a genius.

Donner figures out that the first Mars mission was to pick up the object. It failed.

Donner’s narrating:

Episode ends with Eve playing the violin, the song of Beta.
