Ep. 13 - Kiss

Donner narrating:
…courage isn’t something you can buy,
it’s something you find.

Zoe is slowly walking away from the lander toward the sound of the baby.

Zoe: Are you hearing it, Donner?

Donner: I’m not hearing anything Zoe. But you need to turn around and come back to the lander.

Zoe: Not without the baby.

Donner: There isn’t a baby. You’re on Venus.

Ep. 13 - Kiss

Meanwhile back at Mission Control, they mute the actual live feed between Zoe & Donner.
Goss orders the pre-recorded EVA to be played.

Paula’s doing the transition - you sure get the feeling she’s about to lose it.
Too many lies.

Ep. 13 - Kiss

Goss: Why would Zoe be hallucinating a baby?

Eve: She aborted one in her first year of training.

The pre-recorded segment is played.
We see Zoe walking around near the lander, collecting samples.

Ted tells he’s got to get Zoe back on the lander now.
The suit is good for only 20 mins.

(So they can send a manned spaceship all the to Venus and beyond,
but the spacesuit only functions for 20mins!!?)

Ep. 13 - Kiss

Zoe is not listening to Donner.
She thinks she can reach the baby.

Zoe’s been out for 7 mins, she has 3 mins to turn back or she won’t make it.

Donner pleads with her. Zoe is determined to get the “baby”.

Ep. 13 - Kiss

Donner: Zoe, there is no baby on Venus. Turn around right now, or you’re not gonna make it back to the ship.

Jen asks Ted to let her try to talk to Zoe.
She wants it private, with no one else listening.

Ep. 13 - Kiss

Donner jumps off the channel, as does MIssion Control.

Jen: It’s not looking so easy right now Zoe.

Zoe: I’m gonna make it, Jen.

Jen: Your is good for only 20 mins.

Zoe: I hear the baby.

Jen: It’s the hallucination. You know that.

Zoe: No. This is different.

(There’s no getting through to her)

Ep. 13 - Kiss

Jen: It’s not your baby. I know you think it is. Your baby is gone.

Zoe: You’re wrong. It’s right up ahead.

Jen: No, no. That thing is making you hear the baby. It wants to kill you.

Zoe: I’m gonna get it. It will be okay.

Jen:

Where you’re going there is no coming back.
Please don’t leave us. Don’t do this.
We need you on this ship.
Please Zoe turn back now.

Ep. 13 - Kiss

No response from Zoe.

Jen: She’s gonna die out there, isn’t she?

Mintz: And if Donner tries to wait for her, so will he.

Nadia: No. We can’t let him do that. This isn’t Mars.

Ted: No, it’s not, but it sure feels that way.

Mission Control

“She’s now at 200 meters, still outbound”

Ajay: " 10 mins on the surface. No return.

Goss: “If “they” want us to retrieve them, then why do they keep killing us?”
(Finally, Goss come up with something one can agree with.)

Eve: “She’s not dead yet. In fact, she’s our only hope.”

Ep. 13 - Kiss

Zoe: I’m choosing to ignore the point of no return alert.
