The lander’s countdown begins.

Zoe to Donner:
“Donner, if anything happens, I w-”
Donner: “We’re gonna grease this Zoe.”
The Venus lander heads towards to Venus’ surface.
Lots of nerves.

The lander makes it through the atmosphere and turbulance in one piece. Shields ok.
Oh crap -
“They’ve been blown out of the flight path cone by 2 degrees”
Donner tries to correct.
Zoe can’t walk more than 100 meters (328 ft) and make i back alive.
Ep. 12 - Venus
If the miss the landing site, they’re collecting some rocks and aborting.
ASCAN training
Zoe: “This is going to be my marker (the tatoo), the day I move on.”
Zoe picks an eagle, a large eagle’s head.
Back of her left shoulder.

In the Venus lander.
Still 2 degrees off.
The lander is down.
Mission Control to Donner
“How close to the object?”
Donner: “286 meters, That’s too far. We can’t get it from here.”
Everyone is stunned.
Ep. 12 - Venus
Mission Control: " We copy, 286 meters from the object."
Arnel (smugly): "So much for destiny:
Wass: “I guess it doesn’t want us to pick it up.”
Jen: “Maybe it’s better this way.”
Zoe: “So that’s it?”
Donner narrating:
“You never know how you’re gonna react to those life-changing moments.”
Zoe: “What do they want us to do?
Control, what do you want us to do?”
Goss:
“We have 20mins to get off that planet.
Let’s pick up some rocks, put on a show for the folks back home,
get the hell out.”
Ep. 12 - Venus
Zoe opens the landing pod door and is lowered to the surface.
Zoe’s landing line:
“Mark the day with a footprint.
A step forward in the path of man.”
Zoe: “All nominal.”
Ep. 12 - Venus
Zoe: “The pressure is making the suit creak.”
Zoe looks out over the surface of Venus.
The air is simmering and thick.
Oh crap - she hears a baby crying !
Ep. 12 - Venus
Zoe: “Donner, are you getting that?”
Donner: “Yeah. Video’s coming in crystal clear.”
Zoe: (still hearing a baby crying) No, Donner, that. The baby."
Ep. 12 - Venus
Donner: “Baby? Can you repeat that?”
Eve: “Oh no, it’s her hallucination, it’s talking to her.”
Mission Control: “She’s changing direction.”
Donner: “I don’t hear anything. Turn around and come back to the lander, Zoe.”
Eve: “She’s going towards it, she’s going towards Gamma”
Ep. 12 - Venus
Donner: Zoe, come on back.
Zoe: I can get it, Donner.
Minsk: She might be able to make it to the object. She’ll never make it back.
