Cool craaaaaap you've acquired/done lately

to continue the saga of the deer in my yard. A sheriffs deputy came out when the animal control people didn’t want to because i live far out and its late. So the deer was still alive but in pain (it made sounds like a dying giraffe) so the sheriff offed to put the poor creature out of its misery. He went and got his shot gun and did the deed. About a minute later my neighbor showed up at my fence with a shot gun (its good to know that i have protective neighbors). My neighbor was also redneck enough to be willing to haul the deer away so he could have himself some venison (I personally am wary of eating deer that was dying of mysterious causes). It has been one very interesting night.

Sis went out to see a play with some of her friends tonight, I think she’s gonna be okay.

She did leave me behind though SOB

But really, I’m not wired in the brain correctly to enjoy a play about betrayal and loss, so that’s also a cool thing! YAY!

My baby brother called tonight and asked if I wanted him to build me some bookshelves in his carpentry class next year. The ones I have right now are particle board, so I am psyched. (I asked for a dark wood, and he told me he would make them out of walnut with an early-American finish.)

Just remember, when you Graduate, you have to haul those shelves out of there.

And by me you mean my dad and brother

Ahhh, Family. I’m glad I’m just your friend. And several hundred miles away.

I finally got my truck today. Its a beat up ole '83 Chevy with no AC but it also means i dont have to borrow cars anymore!!!

seriously that may be one of the wisest things I’ve ever seen here…

Particle board is just fine thank you. well speaking as the bloke who usually has to move all the heavy stuff…

Yeah, but they’re held together by those little pieces of plastic, so they wouldn’t have traveled well anyways.

I love Bill Bailey! QI is one of my favorite shows ever, and the eps with him or Jo Brand are the best! I also loved the ep of Jonathan Creek he was on. (Can you tell I’m also an Alan Davies fan? :D)

Only one class tomorrow, followed by a 3 day weekend. I really need to sleep in.

You keep saying I am like your mom, thank you.

Wow, me too.

Following the law, I posted in Bitch/moan, so I must post here!

My sister went home yesterday, she feels much stronger, and she doesn’t want her ex to get the house. So that worked out well!

Despite all the problems actually getting to the airport (and that we’re still having with rental car), my in-laws are here - they got here fine and appear to be having a lovely time, so far. Phew!

Finally able to save my game state on my Amiga emulator for Faery Tale Adventure! Now with a long weekend ahead, I look forward to some quality time with my first RPG love.

Amiga emulator? Craaaaaaaap!
I shoulda saved those floppies with my DPaint works of art after all!

It stopped raining long enough for my dogs to do their thing. Then it started again. Well that is backward for normal this week. Sitting outside listening to two birds talking to each other. I do not know where they are but it is very pretty.

I finally got new license plates and tags on my car on Thursday. I have a couple of old tickets to pay off, and then I’m done with this nightmare. Also, I have to figure out how to confront the technical school I originally had the car repaired at, since they sent me home with a fuel leak that could have caught the car on fire.

But this is the Cool Crap thread, so I digress.

I finished reading Atlas Shrugged yesterday. It took me three months and 1,070 pages. Major goal accomplished.

Next week, I will start moving my stuff into a new house that my old roommate just bought. My current roommate is already in the process. Our old roommate is charging us a pittance of the rent we’re paying now, and we get to live in a nice big house in an up-and-coming urban/yuppie part of town. Also, we get to ditch the landlord of our current apartment who’s not come to fix the hole in our bathroom ceiling since the tile caved in last summer.

I’m extremely tired because I just got a new job at Starbucks and have been working extra hours aside from my Omnimax and PBS jobs in order to get through my training. The pay is minimum wage + tips, but they have good insurance. Hopefully, this will help keep money rolling in for a while as I look for more freelance work.

I’m tired. I worked the Omnimax today, and I have to close at SBux tonight, and then I’m crashing at (my old) home.

I’ve spent the last couple of days traveling between Washington and Philadelphia doing nothing but hearing good music, having great meals with old friends, reconnecting with even older friends and making new friends and connections.

I’m exhausted, but it’s so nice to get to do this!
