Good Luck.
Thank you. Tks for the good vibes, it’s got to help.
Very lucky day.
One paper at a time. Wooot
You are an OG!
I have had a great time with the shuttle launch, meet with the space station etc.
Yes-I-am. (She proudly said.)

I just hope THIS Friday is luckier.
fun! I’m not very familiar with the French Caribbean, but South America? Totally up my alley (well and New Spain, and the Hispanic Caribbean…).
I’ll stop boring everyone now… but I still have to say that IMO totally just a continuation of the power of the criollo elites (in a few cases off the top of my head things got much worse for indigenous groups etc after ‘revolution’), and also symptomatic of the crap going down in Spain then too (Napoleon anyone?).
If only it was that easy.
No matter how hard I try I just cant get the Jedi mind trick to work.
After dealing with my own personal crisis I looked back through the forums and saw how helpful and concerned you all were. Now that my head, no pun intended, is a little clearer I realize I hadn’t been as good to all of you.
So here goes,
Mr. Lister, Sir - Congrats on the new contract.
Glimfeather - Congrats on the freelance gig and good luck on finding a new job.
NothingButheRain - Good luck on the raise and congrats on the OG status.
Lucky - Good luck on the Mid-terms I remember how frustrating they could be.
Leah - Congrats on the new computer and dog.
Armando - Good luck with the Dutch even if they try to pay you in clogs and tulips.
Huh. That was more or less exactly what I ended up saying, and was the position I took when we discussed it in class at the end of this unit. But yeah, Haiti was definitely an interesting story—I think we spent about three weeks reading primary documents from the slave uprisings, freed people of color rebellions(Vincent Ogé’s failed revolt), Makandal, Resistance against Napoleon, etc. Really interesting.
Thank you ThotFullGuy. I am touched.
Thank you, Head_Lance.
Hope all goes well for you.
If we work together, we can discover the secret. Let me teach you the ways of the Sith.
And thanks for the good wishes on the Dutch. I’m not as concerned about them as I am about the meeting I have tomorrow with a potential benefactor (or, rather, I’m told he could be such a benefactor) and my job interview over the phone on Friday morning.
Finished a 15 page engineering design paper on Thursday. It took a lot of editing, since it was about 25 pages of information. If the figures, tables and graphs were any smaller, they would have been useless. It was due at 5 pm, and at 4:59, my group printed out the final copy.
Now its spring “break,” during which I get to write 2 lab reports, and study for a test and a bunch of quizzes.
Also, I finally saw and read Watchmen this week. AWEsome.
Boy how do I feel your pain. I think these professors need a lesson in what the word “break” means. I’ve been writing papers and studying for tests all week as well. Going to have to miss parts of the meet up this weekend to study.
New computer but no new dog. I was just asked what would I be happier getting. Topgun got the new pup. Glad you are doing better. Have you eaten today? Oh, sorry my mothering nature slipped out again.
Here’s to useless breaks! I’ve had the busiest, most stressful spring “break” this week I’ve EVER had. UGH!
And I haven’t yet gotten to see Watchmen. I did get to see the awesome spectacle of horribleness that is “10,000 B.C.” this afternoon, though. Its cratacularity TOTALLY made my day!
