Oh crap, just caught a bullet in the brain…
The Mrs. got a job today! Okay, it’s just a temp contract replacing a tem-to-hire who has taken seriously ill, but it’s a job. She starts Thursday. We’re hoping they’ll like her so much they’ll keep her, but feel awful because part of that involves wishing harm on someone else (which we don’t).
It’ll be nice to have the extra bread next week, in any case.
Apple products do that sort of thing. My computer wants me to update software. I say yes and it does the rest. Oh kind of Cylon sounding.

Best wishes for the sick ones. Our 2-year-old has a sore throat that hurts up by her ear, which she’s interpreting as ear pain. But I have the same thing, so I suspect it’s not.

Good for the Mrs. I got my in to my first job because someone was in a car accident. She returned to work and I was transfered to another job that was permanent. Cross your fingers.
Little ones are not wired the same so keep your eye out. I hope you both feel better.
Oh we are. If she gets to do this job or one that pays like it permanently, she’ll make quite a bit more money than me, but if I continue to teach at the same level next year (keeping fingers crossed) we would do okay and it would mean that I could take the money that’ll be coming in from musical projects and use it to pay off debts AND start saving up for a house, condo, rainy day fund or whatever.
My eyes are stars right now.

We did the Toy Story Mania ride at Disney’s Holywood Studios today.

Nothing but Happiness on Toy Story 3. Pixar has not messed up a flick yet. (well Cars wasn’t the best but it was still pretty good) And Toy Story is their baby i don’t think they would let it get messed up. Watch the Pixar Story documentary, you can catch it on NetFlix on demand. They talk a lot about what happens when they think a movie is in trouble
When Cars is the worst movie your studio has made, I think you have a TON of goodwill going into a project. At this point, Pixar could make an animated version of an Andy Warhol experimental film and I’d STILL watch it.
I got a serious validation from my performing rights organization today, essentially guaranteeing a minimum payment on royalties regardless of how much I really bring in. I’m not supposed to really talk about it, but it’s akin to getting a raise. It’s pretty sweet and while it’s not for a TON of money, what they said about why they’re offering me this deal makes me feel like I chose the right career path, which is something I haven’t been able to say too much over the past year.
It feels shiny.
