Dolphins naturally. Oh wait, Dolphins aren’t fish!! I forgot.
Seriously, though, Santa brought 'em little, easy, simple pretty Betta fish–in cool looking round fish bowls with overhead lights.

Your Christmas sounds lovely, Armando. And color me jealous re: the Wii Fit.
I’m thrilled because I’ve been given lots of neat new cooking stuff which has me planning meals in my head constantly, even though we won’t be back in our own kitchen until after the new year.
And all of the presents we gave went over well, and that always makes me happy
Sounds pretty familiar, my nephews were beyond excited, the wrapping paper flew, and once they found there new Wii and mario kart. well for a good portion of the day there were screams of joy and sound effects. wrap it up with some time sledding, a snow ball fight, and a good meal.
it was nice holiday
Frakkintalos’ mention of the movie “Fantastic Voyage” in the classic movie thread reminded me of my age old roots in sci-fi geekdom. Listen kids, back in the day, when gramps or gramma were into a movie, or a book, they didn’t have cellphone themes, desktop pictures, iPod slideshows…our media: Crayolas!
Submitted for your approval, or otherwise, the artistic renderings of a 9 year old Topgun, yes, we are talking 1972 here, during which time I was consumed with the book, and movie, Fantastic Voyage:
These drawings are 36 years old !! File em under Cool Craaaaap I did a long time ago but just remembered I had:
And not a single close-up of Rachel Welch. Young, and oblivious…
I just wanted to share my Christmas morning because it was a hoot!
I was staying with my parents as well as my sister & her 2 kids. I’m told that at 3am, my sister wakes up to her son looming over her saying, “It’s Christmas morning mom!” (he’s 7) My sister, not being fully awake yet, tosses off the covers gets up, puts on her glasses & looks at the clock. She then tells them it’s 3am! They need to wait 2 more hours. They went back to their room & my sister didn’t get back to sleep because the 9 year old sister was getting up every 5 minutes & checking the clock in the bathroom to see if it was time yet.
At 5, they come & get me up. I didn’t know what time it was yet, I’m walking to the living room & it danws on me…it’s still frakkin DARK! Then I see it’s 5AM! WTF!?!
Anyway, we open presents & the kids are just beside themselves with excitement & then they open the WII. I thought Morgan was gonna come out of her skin! She’s jumping up & down & squealing!
My sister goes & hooks up the WII & I went back to bed for a couple more hours of sleep!
Impressive, TG!
Heh.
Thanx for sharing TG! I think you’ve got a winner for your tatoo.
Yeah same morning I had, except we had the whole family here so my wife and I didn’t get to go back to bed. I’m still catching up on sleep.
Daaaaaamn, TG. You got skills.
Anyway, today I got a possible job prospect all on my own (no wheedling for favors from friends or connections, just good old fashioned footwork and phone-calling).
Also, I have a date for New Year’s Eve with a girl I’ve been crushing on for a year.
This could be the start of a good year.
When I think Australia + Christmas, I think of The Proposition. Now that is a not-very-good Christmas.
Ongoing praise for the intros. They’re a nice, nice touch.
Spread the good luck, Stroogie. My wife just found out that the job she was counting on next month isn’t happening after all (and the people offering it knew all along). She’s not happy (and neither am I).
I spent the week with my mother and brother in south Florida. It says at the top that it has been a week since I have visited this sight. (I sound like an AA meeting.) My mother does not have internet access.
My personally made gifts were well received. Since I am an insecure artist I was not sure if they were very good. I do not think there are any kind of artist but the insecure type but what can I say. I spent the week just doing not very special things, but my mother and I just enjoyed being together. Now that is sappy.
Not sappy at all. I kind of miss my mother and wish I could be spending the holidays with my family (especially tomorrow. New year’s eve is always a big deal at my folks’).
I enjoy sappy. So does my mom. She went from parents to college to marriage. She has only been on her own for two years. She enjoys having me to have someone to have breakfast with etc.
Ah, so I’m not the only one who’s an insecure artist! Nice to know I’m not alone
Joe
Heh I didn’t make anything that freaking cool when I was 9.
To start out the new year, via the magic of the forum gods, I have officially deemed myself “splatterson”.
On behalf of Sean, thank you.
It is not fine art but my mother enjoyed it.
Welcome, Splatterson !!!
Good move. It’s what we all called you anyway, when you weren’t lookin’ …
Leah, that is beautiful! Kudos!
