Cool craaaaaap you've acquired/done lately

Thank you! I am glad that she has a small garden because I have to hall the rocks when she needs more.

I’ve always wanted to do tile work like that. That’s pretty awesome.

Wait…you MADE that? That is simply gorgeous, Leah. Fine art or not, it’s really beautiful. (And very professional and certainly fine, IMO.)

And here I’ve been calling her Shelly.

Hahahahahahaha! You can call me that to my face Armando - I’ll even answer!

Thank you so much. It is a glass mosaic. My mother has a thing for flamingos living in south Florida. I am to chicken to do full stain glass windows but I have done fused glass. I find artwork calming.

Serenity Blue ray… which is absolutely beautiful but i swear to god this is the last time i’m buying this movie.

Thanks very much dxf, that’s very sweet of you. I really enjoy doing them

I’m so sorry Armando. If someone told me I’m not starting work this month after all I’d be totally financially screwed

My mum has been on her own for a little over a year. I went to her beach house with her as she wasn’t able to go by herself and face it since my dad died. She actually had a pretty good time, and then I made her dinner for new year’s eve. She just needed some low key company. Still it’s important to her and I’m sure to your “mom” too

I could only draw wobbly stick figures, although knees and elbows featured prominently for some reason. What am I saying, I can still only draw stick figures!

They are really beautiful Leah and very professional looking

Thank you. I would love to quit my day job and sell my glass work but I probably starve. :stuck_out_tongue:

Leah, those pieces are beautiful!

We had a quiet Christmas, just hubby and I…it was wonderful. I received a few new kitchen toys, a Wonder Woman statue, and all the BSG DVD’s currently available. <3. I also got to spend the weekend before xmas with my family in New Jersey, which working in retail has made impossible before. This year with prodding from my husband I said screw it and went, because it meant so much to my father. I’m very glad I did. He sets up a miniature Chirstmas village every year, which I’ve never been able to see, and his joy at sharing all the houses and their stories with me and why he sets them up the way he does made all the airport delays and snow and cold more than worth it. I don’t really like the holidays, but this year was wonderful in that warm fuzzy holiday way.

Happy New Year, all!

Leah, I don’t think you have anything to be self conscious about. These pieces are stunning. If you ever decide to sell any (assuming that you haven’t cause, you know, I like to assume) you’d make a bundle.

Thank you so much.

I managed to set up my Twitter account.

This is how I spent the morning of January 2nd.
471 pieces of hell. The Star Wars Lego V-19 Torrent !!

I’m thinking two hours, tops, before the kid drops it…

Nice. Cool. Yeah, he’s gonna drop it and then it’s back to square one.
My girls got Spy equipment for xmas, so they’ve been sneaking around the house spying on my all week…oh, they go an Origami kit too—so far I’m made an origami purse, a dog, a frog, a cup and a paper airplane.

Hey, what the frak, Topgun, your kitchen looks EXACTLY like my next door neighbors! Same floor, same paneling, fridge in the same place. Are you Steve? All this time, I never knew you live right next door. Steve, thanks for snow blowing my driveway the other day. Oh, and you and Deb left your bag of diapers and baby wipes when you left the News Party. I’ll have one of the kids bring 'em over. I ain’t going outside on this 16 degree cold day.

Since I have a sinus infection and an eye infection both, my cool new craaaaaaaap items are clarithromycin and tobradex. And a bunch of smut books that I found while waiting for the pharmacy!

That’s so funny, I can totally relate. I assembled the exact same thing for my little brother on Christmas!!!

We got the Dark Knight last night on OnDemand, so that was kind of awesome. we hadn’t seen it yet, so this is good.

Leah, those pieces of art are beautiful! I love the flamingo, especially!

I’m laughing about the Legos…you people haven’t SEEN Legos this Christmas. I’ll post some serious Lego creations later on. Luckily, my son made a huge leap forward in his ability to follow the Lego directions and was able to complete most of his Lego sets (yes, sets–as in many, many) on his own this year. That was a blessing all its own.

Did you like the magic trick?

Ugh…that sucks (the sick, not the smut  )! I hope you feel better soon.
