Cool craaaaaap you've acquired/done lately

envidious–I like it. was about to say, “way to get your code-switching on :D” but I tried an alternate spelling on a hunch: “invidious” was a word I’d never seen before. thanks for punching up our (or at least my) vocabulary, casilda!

oh, and congrats on that other thing

LOL! Invidious is a fabulous word, but I do have to say I meant to say envious… the problem is watching TV in one language and typing in another. :stuck_out_tongue:

But I’m all for everyone learning interesting new words, so I’m glad to help out.

see, that’s what I thot was going on. I love those little bilingual bobbles

I am envious! Although living in the same country is not the problem.

Hehe. You wanna learn new words…? Muahahaha…

A friend of mine gave birth to a baby Alpaca a couple days ago. (well, he didn’t give birth to it, one of his herd did).
It’s a girl and she had a difficult birth. According to my friend, she was stuck in the birth canal because her head was bent under an the vet had to come and straighten her out, which was a struggle. They were afraid she wouldn’t make it, but she did and apparently she is one ravenous nurser–gained a whole pound in one day.

Her name is Hope.
And I think with the world in the state it’s in today, we could all use a little Hope. May she be a good sign of light at the end of the tunnel. So say we all.

Amd another pic of the newborn:

That’s the same alpaca?

Yeah. The little one. The white one. The other one in both pics is the Mom.

And happy follow up, hubby was let into the country and is now sitting next to me on the couch, laptop in hand

Congratulations, Cas. That’s wonderful news!(now put the laptops away you crazy kids…)

Aw, I love babies, whatever their species! Welcome to the world, Hope!

Whoo hoo! Yay for you guys!

Cool craaaaaap I’ve acquired this week: sudden poverty. :frowning:

What she said! Yay for love dreams coming true!

This is not bizzaro GWC

How do you know`?

Because if it were you’d be the most prudish person on earf

I am so use to students with spelling issues that I read the word you intended and never even saw the spelling issue. Invidious works well in the context of the post as well. Cool

In some cultures the birth of a white animal is a sign of good things to come. I hope that Hope is a good omen and that she does well.

You are lucky most of us have had poverty for some time.

I do consider myself quite smart, actually.
