Cool craaaaaap you've acquired/done lately

My parents had the white one declawed while I was at school. The black one came from a friend, already declawed.

To be clear: not blaming you. But it’s a cruel thing to do to a cat, and people should realize that.

Ye gods that’s a riot!

My parents wanted to declaw her because she was scratching up all the trim and furniture in the house. I didn’t want them to do it, and I thought we’d decided not to. I got home, and they’d done it. She never seemed to have any pain, but she slept for about a week after it was done.

Sleep is one of the ways cats deal with pain. Some people seem to expect that they’ll start writing emo poetry or something, but they don’t really have a lot of ways to deal with what’s an agonizing and brutal surgery.

I don’t know how a cat could write emo poetry without opposable thumbs, but that sure would be an interesting sight to see!

Yeah, that was great! Thanks for sharing.

CuUUUUUuuuuUUTE!

I know what Elena’s going to be this halloween!

Question is: where do you find that costume?

I imagine cats would be far too nihilistic in their outlook to be something so trendy as “emo.” I think they would write Sartre-esque plays about how hell is other people. (Well, people in general.)

Ebay and make it yourself? I’d do it for Haloween, but I’m totally not Kaylee shaped :frowning:

The sad thing is Jewel had to gain 20 pounds to be “Kaylee shaped,” and I don’t think anyone would consider Kaylee overweight. Excuse me while I go eat another piece of cheesy Texas Toast.

Finally got myself some black Converse Chucks today. I can now join the Nerd Herd, or the Dr. Who cosplay.

Did someone say “cat” and “poetry?” Take a lookee here (especially the comments.)

They aren’t deep fried?

Then it’d been french toast and they’re un-American!

Dude, I live in the South. Do you even have to ask?

Actually, they’re the frozen ones. I needed something to snack on while I watched The Plan.

Freedom Toast.

Two years later, they were changed back…

Thank God almighty!

I was working on a navy base at the time and the cafeteria was run by some old navy guys. I noticed one day that the menu actually said “Freedom Fries”.

This should balance out my bummer post in the other thread…

My parents, who used to live 4 hours away in Dallas, now live 10 minutes away! It is nice having them so close. My kids are very excited as well. I had a lot of fun with my grandfather growing up, but lived too far away from my other set of grandparents to see them often. I am happy for my boys to be able to spend time with them. My husband is happy for the free babysitting services.
