Cool! Luckily I was out of town once the road closed but friends and relatives there still complained about it mightily. Oh, memories
Thankyou!
They already have an adopted 7 year-old. I’m gonna work hard at making sure that she knows she’s still important!
'Bout 5 miles, but they didn’t let us traverse the entire strip. I biked between the Hampton exit and Hanley exit, which I think is about 3.3 miles one way.
Gosh, when I put it that way, it sounds like a really long trip, for me anyway.
That’s like something out of a Terry Gilliam movie. How nice!
I got a raise at work today!! And a good one, too! I’m still not exactly raking it in, but the extra .75/hr sure helps. Plus I get back pay. Holla!
I just got (and I imagine all other audible members here) A Christmas Charol as narrated by Tim Curry for free!
downloading now, check your email audible subscribers!
woo congratz Glim!
I’m hoping for any kind of a raise come January, hell I’d be happy with any kind of a raise
I would certainly hope I’ve earned it since I’m now supervising 4 people below me and they dumped me with about 5x amount of work since last year,
I keep hearing reports of companies learning to do more with less resources because employees, fearful for their jobs, are working extra hard without as many perks. People, we need to stop working so hard!
Yay! That’s so awesome! Congrats to your sister!
That’s so cool. When I’ve done the Race for the Cure here in Cleveland in the past, they closed off part of “The Shoreway” (State Rte 2) and used it as part of the race course. Like you said, crazy to see all those people walking down the highway.
well the problem is I’m a workaholic, I don’t even take my breaks
THEY’RE FEEDING MY ADDICTION!
NOOOOOO!!! Break the cycle. BREAK THE CYCLE!
I’ve got a failsafe program: get thee to a couch, with some snacks and, I don’t know, the complete BSG DVD or Blu Ray box set (or any other favorite TV show or movie collection, or, better yet, BOTH!) STAT!
I’ve got the 18th and the 21st off so I’m going to make the most of it then
aka Avatar opening day!
then after that I’ll be doing exactly what you just said except with Christmas cookies!!!
Spouse and I have safely gotten ourselves to my in-law’s house in S. America, where it is sunny and warm, and did I mention sunny? The sun is up past 4 PM? It’s nice to actually have a lot of daylight again, hehehe.
OH YEAH??? WELL I HAD…14 inches of snow yesterday?
My parental units had to dig out of the house yesterday, too. Or so I am told.
My wife has fired up the cookie factory for the season.
Every year she makes the 12 cookies of Christmas.
so far this year we have
Raspberry thumbprint cookies
Chocolate chip with nuts
Butterscotch cookies (these are like kissing the gods)
Lemon snaps
black walnut cookies
I am not sure what the rest of the list looks like for this year… will keep you posted.
I am responsible for the home made egg nog and the pistachio biscotti. I will also make the home made biscuit treats for the Dogs.
I walked two blocks to work in 11-degree weather because it’s street sweeping day.
Oh wait, wrong thread.
Have a happy, warm December, Casilda!
Ooo, I think I felt my belt buckle bursting just reading that post. Sounds delish, Wolfy.
Bit of a weird one this!
I went to the shop to get some milk, I can’t handle the stuff but Fiance Yey is so British his blood is almost 98% tea, and there was a little Chav kid hanging around outside the shop.
“Yo lady” he says, “You gonna buy me some fags?”
“No” I reply, the kid obviously had enough problems, his trousers were far too big for him, so I wasn’t about to add to them.
“FCK YOU!" he screams "YOU HNKY NGGER!!!” and then runs off
I should have been upset, or scared, but really all I wanted to do was chase him down and explain what an oxymoron is.
I think that means I’m a grown up now?
How is “Hinky Nagger” an oxymoron?
Someone just ain’t down with the kids it seems!
