And so it begins......

yeah, it seems like the real season 2 plot didn’t begin until Pegasus.

I’d like to watch the extended version but I don’t know if she can access that on the streaming sites she watches it on, so we may have to wait until we are together to watch the other one.

Thing is, I don’t know how to determine if I have access to the originally aired version of Pegasus, or the extended version.

All in all, a good episode. Sorry about the delay in my response, but I was away all day Saturday, and I totally spaced on it yesterday.

So, yeah, Tyrol’s “little project” became a unifying force on Galactica. It started off just him, being ridiculed, but over time the entire ship got in on the action. Even Tigh, skeptic that he always is, found a reason to get involved. Granted, he was probably doing it for the access to the alcohol that the Chief was brewing, but hey, the end result was still a contribution to the stealth fighter.

I absolutely cracked up when Starbuck was test flying it, and she went totally off grid, everyone was panicking, and suddenly she shows back up with some smart ass comment about it being a frakking stealth ship, so of course they couldn’t see her on radar.

Very touching moment at the end when they revealed that they had named it after Roslin. I thought she was going to have to wipe a few tears away at that one, but she held on to her composure.

Like I said, all in all a good episode

yup, Chief is the real everyman. except that not every everyman can build a stealth fighter. it’s good to see he put all the anger and frustration into building something, instead of destroying something.

Good grief!! I haven’t had this much trouble getting an episode since the middle of May, when we watched the miniseries!! Well the good news is that I did, in point of fact, get the episode streamed and we got to watch it today.

At the beginning of the episode, when the Pegasus first shows up, before they KNOW it’s the Pegasus, Adama seems to have an intuition about this ship that suddenly jumped into view. Given that to the best of their knowledge the rest of the entire fleet had been destroyed, what made him think, even for an instant, that this might NOT be a Cylon?

When they are watching the Raptor from Pegasus land and the crew disembark, Starbuck seems to be checking out one of the servicemen. Phaze asked me “Do you get the impression she knows him?” I said “No, I get the impression she WANTS to know him… in the biblical sense”

At first the Admiral seems reluctant to reveal how they evaded the original Cylon attack, which led me to wonder at her deeper motivations. Could be a false trail since moments later she explained.

The XO from Pegasus and Tigh are busy getting drunk together, which prompted Phaze to ask if all XOs were drunks.

Gotta love Lee when he’s confronting the CAG from Pegasus, and tells him “My commander’s name is Adama. That should be easy to remember, since it’s the same as mine” I LOVED that he stood up like that and stood by his father. It was like he was saying “My father is my commander, not some b**** Admiral”

I expressed a deep seated dislike for Admiral Kane, to the extent that I called her a bitch. Phaze told me to give her another episode or two before I decided she was a complete bitch. Me: “Awww, do I have to?” Phaze: “Well she’s only in three episodes”

It seriously ticked me off that Kane wanted to reassign Apollo and Starbuck. Then she started to verbally attack Helo and the Chief?? I don’t think so. Those are our team, and you start attacking them, you lose any right to NOT being called a complete bitch.

It literally made my stomach churn when the Lt was interrogating Sharon and it became clear he was going to rape her. Phaze, the rest of this topic is yours to discuss hon, since you had some things to say about it.

It’s official, I hate a female more than Six. Who? Admiral Kane.

One last thought, Kane is going to kill Tyrol and Helo, Adama is intent on reclaiming his crew members, and Kane says that ADAMA took it over the line? That b**** has got to die!!! (Hopefully a bloody and disgustingly painful death)

I think if you look past Adama’s pragmatic front, deep down he is an optimist and a romantic.

that’s probably why his mind went to the it might be other people place. had it not been his wife, his career, the death of his son, and falling out with his other son, Adama might have been a really fun guy :stuck_out_tongue:

sooo pegasus.

Due to my (own) drunkenness et al I haven’t had a chance to comment much upon this episode, Adriana is right though admiral Kane is a bit of a dick.
My feelings (which Adriana has kindly allowed me to express) mostly relate to the treatment of the Six model by lutenant “break the cylon” Thorne was horrendous. Seeing the beaten and bloody Six model was actually quite disturbing, indeed Kane’s whole attitude should have her formally ejected form the human race, the frakking cylons have more heart.

A particularly difficult scene to watch was the one where Baltar is persuading the Six model to eat something, watching her crawl across the floor towards the food was incredibly hard to do. Also we see a rare side to Baltar, he’s actually found something he cares about more than himself, thus revealing greater complexity to the character and not seeing him as the selfish, one dimensional frakker he appeared to be.

On the mutual observations thing, we’ve found a Six model which pernnfan feels sorry for and also ourt kindler gentler Baltar, seemed to catch her off guard. On the subject of reactions, when Thorne is killed (the old bolt to the temple thingy) her reaction was summed up in one word, with a lot of emotion…
“good”.

Not sitting on the fence my Adriana
On that note I shall close and we can move on to tonight’s episode, entitled “resurrection ship, part I”.

I agree Kane can be a B*. You have to see Razor to understand why.

Admiral Cain (yes, that is how it is spelled) can only see the Galactica crew for their weaknesses. Adama see’s their weaknesses and their strengths. This is the defining difference between them. Adama surrounds himself with people who are strong enough to stand up to him, while Cain surrounds herself with people who are not.

and now we come to ressureciton ship part one.

I’m loath to comment on this episode too much as I was pretty much overwhelmed by Adriana’s continous hatred of Cain (correct spelling, see? I checked) every tiome she came on screen it was like “she needs to die, sh needs to die now”. it kinda wiped out the rest of the ep.

Umm, well the new six’s identification of the ressurection ship, her desire to actually die.
and frak me, when she takes the top off and you see the scars on her back, that made me want to kill Cain alos and I know what frakking well happened to her.

so we still have everything fairly close to a shooting war between pegasus and galactica until starbuck returns with the pictures of the ship, and how cool was tyhat, what kinda balls does starbuck have to fly right through the darned thing and take lots of close up, pretty pictures of al the cylon models lined up there, waiting to be rebooted.

Adriana (and others of course) my dear, the floor is yours.

Yes, I hate Cain (thanks for the correction on spelling, btw)

There are graduated levels of anti-female emotions for some of the characters on this show. I dislike Six. I despise Ellen Tigh. I passionately hate Helena Cain. As Alan pointed out in his response to Pegasus, I am NOT a fence sitter lol.

And yes, every time she showed her face, or spoke, my reaction was “She needs to die” I verbally cheered Roslin when she told Adama that someone needed to kill Cain, and I just about jumped out of my seat and did the happy dance when Adame told Starbuck to shoot Cain in the head after their attack on the Resurrection Ship was complete.

I SERIOUSLY hope that part 2 sees Helena Cain deceased. Preferrably in a painful way, though if Kara does plant a bullet in her skull, I promise, I won’t be objecting. So… here’s hoping

Heh. I’d love to see you wait a week (or months!) between episodes.

But I wouldn’t wish that on anyone.

it’s a voyage of discovery pike, we get to know each other through mutual televisual experinces plus it gives us something to discuss at the meet up next year

Painful is a matter of opinion. Lets just say the right person takes care of her.

Orion, you are soooo right. But first, my recap on the rest of Resurrection Ship Part 2

When Lee is visiting the old man, he gets rather accusatory about Adama’s intention to use assassination as a solution to the Cain problem. Seriously??? Get off your moral high horse, Lee, and get with the program. Cain’s bad news on SOOO many levels.

“Don’t anyone look out the window right now. Please” I literally laughed at that comment, because it highlighted just how precarious a position they were in with their fly by.

You have to wonder if this Six model (the one Cain had tortured) had any knowledge or memory of the relationship with Baltar that Head Six was involved in. I asked Phaze, but, of course, he refused to answer.

Apollo had a ridiculously close call when he ejected out of his Viper. And based on his behavior later in the episode, he KNOWS he had a close call.

Adama wimped out. Yes, it all worked out in the end, but for an instant I was seriously disappointed in him for NOT ordering Starbuck to kill Cain. Yes, my hatred of Cain does run that deep.

The relief on the face of Cain’s XO when she didn’t give the kill order was a wonderful sight. It was nice to know that he didn’t want to do it. Yes, he would have done it if he’d been ordered to, but he didn’t WANT to.

During Cain’s funeral her ‘mission’ was mentioned. Kudos to Phaze for his immediate response “Mission to be the biggest bitch in the universe?” yes, I do think that was her personal mission in life!

I loved the fact that Roslin promoted Adama to Admiral (since he now commands more than one ship), but even sweeter was that simple kiss he gave her. I’ve been telling Alan for a while now that there was a kind of relationship forming between those two, and I think that simple kiss highlighted that fact.

No, I didn’t forget the best part of the episode. Rather, I saved it for last. The best part of the episode was, hands down, Six pulling the trigger on Cain. I was glad Kara didn’t have to do it, but IT STILL GOT DONE!!! I literally applauded (which had Phaze laughing even more). What he doesn’t know, since Skype video was turned off, was that there was a happy dance that accompanied that applause. I am SO GLAD she is gone!!!

And finally I open the floor for comments or response. I shall now head home and go to bed (Yes dear, it might be six your time before I make it to consciousness again). Night!!

Any thoughts on Gina’s last words to Cain?

You need to see RAZOR to understand why they are both the way they are. The stuff between them goes deeply into personal.

Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk

As much as I hate to say this… who is Gina? And we’ll be watching Razor, but Phaze says not until after season two, so as to avoid spoilers for me.

Gina’s the name of the tortured Six that shot Cain
