Probably because it sounds like lanista, the word for the owners of gladiator houses. I would post about the actual inspiration for the names of some of the ASoIaF houses, but some poking around revealed that it’s historically spoilery for later events (and possibly some theories about stuff that hasn’t been written!)
I also still haven’t adjusted to Sarah Connor being such a slut yet…
I saw her in 300 first, so wouldn’t be such a stretch for me.
It’s so hard trying to avoid spoiling things for those who haven’t read the books. Just about everything I want to mention to those who haven’t read the books but are watching the show is a spoiler.
I’m near the end of the second book- it IS hard!
I think there’s a thread in the book club section on it, though. I’ll have to check.
It’s here. Problem is, it only covers the first book. Maybe we should set up a Song of Ice and Fire thread for those who have read the whole thing?
It is extremely hard, especially now that book 5 is finished. All I want to do is talk theories about what will happen in A Dance With Dragons.
I’m all for having a series discussion thread because there just aren’t enough people to talk about the series with. Let the countdown to July 12th begin.
It technically only covers the first book, but in practice almost all of us went ahead and read the four books that are out so far. If you’re interested in discussing one of the books in particular please (!) make a thread for it in the Book Discussion forum
Game of Thrones for Dummies. Nice little explanatory recaps.
That deserves to go under Frakkin’ Awesome.
All her sons are rooty-poo candy-asses.
Pearson Moore, whom I know since he wrote over 60 essays about Cultural themes in LOST, is doing the same for Game of Thrones at Winterfellkeep.com. So far there are 4 essays about the episodes and Ned Stark and if you like them and want more, he is offering an e-book with more essays for the later episodes. I enjoy his thots much and after having purchased his LOST e-book, I’m thinking of also buying this one.
Jason Momoa: Those Game of Thrones sex scenes were ‘very hard’

(Not IYKWIM).
"Momoa himself, who will play Conan the Barbarian in this summer’s big-screen reboot of the fantasy hero, is a fearsome-looking guy, but he told MTV News that doing the sex scenes with Clarke was not exactly a fantasy scenario. He explained, “It’s hard. It’s one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do, because I love Emilia, she’s someone that I love and adore to this day. You have to kind of separate [yourself from] it.” "
hahahaha
Ferris, always with the best turn of phrase
Haha, I also wanted to post that blog now. Sadly Tumblr is down ATM.
EDIT: The best one so far about Littlefinger.
Everything clear now? lol
